As a part of our Black on Campus series, we have @yusrakhogali leading a workshop on misogynoir in activism. We hear many stating to protect and support Black women, but we still see few doing this, including within activism. Come and learn about what can and should be done to truly stand against misogynoir. This is an event that centres the experiences and voices of Black girls, women, and femme folks and BLC-Ryerson will ensure that this is maintained.
Food will be provided, and please arrive on time as best you can! If you have accessibility requirements please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org

In the last decade the Tattoo industry has become one of the fastest growing industries as the artform has become more widely accepted by the general society. Unlike the stereotypes of tattoos from the past, tattoos are now seen as a valid expression of experiences and identity. Just this year the AGO held a featured exhibit showcasing the historic presence of tattooing and how it has expanded throughout the years in a contemporary context.
Unfortunately, tattooing is riddled with archaic beliefs that has marginalized many groups of people. Black folks specifically have been excluded from the industry in a very particular way. Black tattoo artists experience anti-Black racism on multiple levels. They are often excluded forcing an environment of isolation.
