  • Hope you all have a happy 4th of July. Remember to drink responsively and stay safe! Also remember to keep your little furry friends comfortable as well, fireworks can spook them.
•
I’ve seen too many people post these popsicles today and I’ve had this photo prepared for a couple days so I guess you can say I’m officially a basic b*tch :,(

  • ONE OF THE CHEAPEST PLACES YOU CAN TRAVEL TO ✈️
•
If you plan a trip to Thailand right, you can easily make it an affordable trip of a lifetime!
•
You can buy street food for as little as one U.S. dollar and if you want to dine in you can buy a nice meal for less than $10. Taxi rides can be as cheap as $5 (but be weary of scammers targeting tourists to charge way more!)
•
In this picture, I was at a Spa in Phuket, Thailand where I spent $13 for a full body scrub, a 45 minute massage, time in a sauna and free pool access. The best part? Alcoholic beverages were $5! (@ton_mai_spa_rawai)
•
The beaches are gorgeous with bright blue warm water. If I could recommend any place in the world, I would definitely recommend visiting Thailand. I’d go back if I had the chance.

  • I just SWAN to introduce myself to all the new faces! 🦢 (pls don’t unfollow me for that bad pun, I’m working on my self control😂)
•
My name is Neejla, I’m a 22 year old weirdo that you, for whatever reason, decided to follow on this social media platform (Idk y ur here but I’m glad that u r :,) u lil cutie u)
•
I use this platform to share photos of fashion and travel, but more importantly I use this platform to attempt to build a community. I use this platform to share my journey whether it be external (like a trip across the country or internal (like my struggles with mental health).
•
My ultimate goal is to create a space where people feel safe to voice their struggles and and feel inspired enough to share their voice with the world.
•
You’re not just a follower, you are a friend friend and you are family. (Did somebody ask for a side order of corny) I love using this platform to build a community where we can connect with one another, offer each other support, and share our stories and life hacks.
•
So thank you for supporting me and my vision. Message me, let’s be friends. Let’s support each other!🥰

  • “Don’t let the opinions of people who you don’t look up to get to you.”
•
This week has been a hard one because I’ve been really beating myself down for not having acceptance and support from some of the people in my life.
•
A friend had some really wise advice for me. She asked me “Does the person have a life you’d want for yourself?” The answer was no. She had a point and her words really hit home for me and have stuck with me.
•
Often times we let the opinions of people control us when those individuals don’t have the life we’d want for ourselves. If they don’t have the life we’d want for ourselves or the emotional intelligence that we strive for then how can we value their opinions of our own life? We can’t.
•
Next time you’re hung up on someone else’s opinions ask yourself:
✨ Would you want the life they’re living?
✨ Do their values align with your own?
✨ Is this person someone you look up to?
✨ Does this person have a high emotional well being?
•
If the answer to any of these questions is no, maybe reconsider the importance of their opinions.

  • I strayed FAR away from my comfort zone yesterday and it was one of the best days I’ve had in a very long time.
•
Going out with friends is really difficult for me even if I’m really craving social interaction. The party scene is especially difficult. These past few months have been really stressful and lonely and I truly needed a day with my best friends away from my everyday life.
•
I usually tend to be a pretty flaky friend when my mental health is getting the best of me because I overthink everything, but yesterday I followed through with my plans and had one of the best days I’ve ever had. Im actually really proud of myself for following through. I’m so grateful for my friends and the people I met yesterday 😌

  • If you’re feeling stuck then sadly we’re in the same boat 🛶 (or canoe I don’t decide ur vehicle of transport🤷🏻‍♀️)
•
I’m going to share something I’ve been INCREDIBLY embarrassed to talk about because it’s my reality. For the past 5 months, I haven’t been working. I’ve been unemployed because my mental health has gotten so bad that I can’t hold it together long enough to work so I’ve been surviving off my savings and living with my family.
•
This is a touchy subject for me because I have always been the person working multiple jobs and making a good income. At one point I was working 2 jobs, 2 volunteer positions, while going to school full time, and still thriving.
•
Being someone with depression, I have a really difficult time when life becomes too stressful. When I lost my dog Scout a couple months ago, it sent me spiraling in another major depressive episode. As more and more things happened in my personal life it’s really sunk me deeper. It’s made my life goals immensely unclear and has stripped me of the ambition I use to pride myself in having.
•
What’s the point in me sharing this? The point is to make it clear that these struggles are normal, painful, but normal. Mental health issues are okay to talk about. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to feel lost. It’s okay to be uncertain. It’s okay to be uncomfortable.
•
This is a part of my journey, and that’s okay. It’s taken me a lot of convincing to be okay with where I’m at right now, and talking about it is a part of the process and I truly do my best to model that for you guys.
•
I love you guys and I hope you know that your feelings are valid and I’m always going to be here for you if you need anything. I’m always a DM away💕

  • 🌴 5 TIPS FOR AFFORDABLE TRAVEL!🌴
•
1. DOWNLOAD HOPPER: @hopper makes it super easy to find INSANELY CHEAP flights (not spon). A roundtrip ticket to Spain and Paris was $300 last time I checked!
•
2. LOCATION: choose a location that is known for being inexpensive all around. Places like Thailand, India, Bali, etc. are known for being extremely affordable. You can buy a meal in Thailand for $1 and clothes for as little as $4.
•
3. TIMING: Plan your trips a couple months in advance and make sure to keep in mind that certain months are more expensive than others. Summer is more expensive for most tropical locations, while tickets to japan are cheaper.
•
4. WHEN YOU FLY OUT MATTERS: flying out on a Tuesday or Wednesday is much cheaper than earlier in the week or on a weekend. Also avoid holidays!
•
5. THE MORE THE MERRIER: this one’s a little harder, I’ve had trouble with it, but if you have a group of friends down to travel take them along with you! It’s easy to get a really nice @airbnb villa for incredibly cheap if you split it amongst multiple people!

  • Reenacting the battle to get out of the womb first 😂
•
Fun Fact: I had a womb mate (pictured here) and I beat him out by a whole 60 seconds. Kinda badass if you ask me.
•
Do you have any siblings? Or even better, are you a twin?!

OKAY THIS IS THE LAST ONE. @jesscaste just knows how to capture such magical photos 😭
•
Happy Friday! I hope you guys have having a happy morning! I was suppose to go to the beach today, but the weather decided to screw me over in the middle of June.
•
I can pretend to be a on devastated, but I think we all know I rather be in my bed watching Netflix instead of socializing. And that’s the tea 😂

  • I might have fucked up 😅
•
Really beating up on myself because I somehow failed to register for my graduation tickets properly even though I thought I did everything I was suppose to.
•
So I’ve been panicking trying to figure it out for the past 2 hours, but my graduation is in 3 days. Not gonna lie, I’ve been crying and having a lot of negative self judgments.
•
Trying my best to self soothe and remind myself that I tried my best, and even though that may not have been enough in this instance, there isn’t much more I can do but try to be kind and patient with myself.
•
So in other words, I ordered myself a pizza to cry over. Hope you’re having a better night 😂

  • Have you ever met someone for the first time and it felt like you’d known them forever?
•
Jonah and I met online through a mutual friend, we were so nervous to meet each other in fear that the other’s feelings would change when we met face to face. And well, they didn’t.
•
When we met for the first time we were so comfortable in each others presence. It felt like he had been my best friend for years. There was no tension, there was no awkwardness. I felt safe with him. He felt like home.
•
LETS GET SAPPY AND GROSS. TELL ME HOW YOU MET YOUR SPECIAL SOMEONE 🥰

  • SWIPE RIGHT TO SEE MABLE GROW UP 🐶💕
•
Getting Mable completely changed my world in a matter of minutes. I decided to get a puppy because my world was becoming an incredibly dark and lonely place. My depression was taking a huge toll on me to the point that I couldn’t find the strength to get out of bed and I didn’t have the motivation to do anything. The things that brought me joy before didn’t spark anything in me anymore. The only time I felt joy was when I’d go to the dog park or local adoptions.
•
I needed something or someone to give me a sense of hope and an ounce of happiness. After planning a course of action with my therapist and 2 months of intense research, I finally got Mable and I haven’t been the same since.
•
I feel so much lighter. I feel genuinely happy when I’m around her. As much as running after her can be stressful, having someone that solely relies on me to take care of them has helped me immensely with my recovery.
•
There are still things that I still need to work on with my therapist, but Mable has helped me get a piece of myself back and I’m so grateful for her.
•
Look at how much that little booger has grown in 2 weeks :,)

  • Spend more time with the people that push you to grow and less time with those that keep you stunted.
•
In the past, I use to hold on so tight to friends and relationships that I knew were too toxic for me. I let history, years of friendship, and a fear of letting go cloud my judgement and convince me to stay. It’s okay to let people go.
•
SIGNS THAT SOMEONE IS TOXIC:
1. They constantly make you feel incredibly stressed out and drained (more than usual)
-
2. They discredit you and contribute to your low self esteem.
-
3. They take advantage of your kindness, and hardly ever give anything in return
-
4. THEY LIVE A DRAMA and they drag you into it. They stretch a bad day into something far worse than it really is.
-
5. They lie with the intention to deceive you.
-
Surround yourself with people that want what’s best for you and want to see you succeed. Be with people that make you happy to be who you are. I am so grateful to have let harmful people go and to be surrounded and supported by such loving and caring people.

  • 🌴 WHOSE READY FOR SUMMER! 🌴
•
The college quarter ends in 6 days and I am so ready to make this summer one to remember. If I’m being honest, summer is usually when my depressive episodes take it up a notch. So I’m going to try and make a Summer Bucket List and try to accomplish as much as I can so I stay busy all summer.
•
What should go on my Summer Bucket List? 🌵💕
