Adjusting the DIN setting - basically how easy it is for the ski to come off in a crash - is one of the most important aspects of setting up skis. We use the international DIN chart, which takes into account your height, weight, age, ski ability and boot sole length 🎿 👍
Monday commute 😍🏔
Yesterday was my first time ever on skis and I was either travelling 48473mph (terrifying) OR I was on my bottom (admittedly hilarious but also pretty frustrating). There was absolutely no middle ground 😂 .
⛷ I had my first ever skiing lesson this morning though...what a difference a couple of hours makes! Didn’t fall down once today AND I managed to stop/slow down - WINNING 🥳 Thanks @avoriaz_alpine_ski_school 🙏🏻
Being a beginner at any sport is intimidating but I think it’s so important to stretch yourself and try new things. Everyone has to start somewhere, right? My challenge to you lot is to be brave & try something new this week - any takers? Let me know 👇🏻😊
Pine alley on the way to the Catholic monastery, where we spent Christmas Eve. At that time, we didn't know yet that we'd be hanging out in monasteries more frequently from then on. We have since stayed in wonderful ones in Nigeria and most recently Togo and they have always offered a level of peace and quiet that can otherwise be hard to find in West Africa.
First night in the Tasmanian Bush is in the books! 🇦🇺💫 During our 10 km hike through beautiful Wukalina (Mt. William) we learned about aboriginal culture and history, & spotted several wallabies, snakes and spiders—the wildlife here is no joke! 🦘🕷We were welcomed at our camp with a cleansing ritual using peppermint gum leaves (like eucalyptus) and fire to take away our negative energies 🌿🔥 Our day of hiking ended with an incredible, locally-sourced meal of scallops, muttonbird, bbq oysters, fish, Tasmanian wines and more 🍷🦪 And while I was worried about sleeping in the wild, our Palawa-style huts are so cozy under the stars!
For the next two days we will be immersing ourselves in the indigenous palawa community’s culture through hiking, storytelling, educational nature walks and activities ✌🏼
Check out my Tasmania highlights for a look at our experiences with Wukalina Walk, the first and only Aboriginal-owned hiking tour company in Tasmania.
I think this is the absolute definition of "the look."
Am I right here, parents? 😂 I wonder where he got it?!
Although, to his defense, I had just put him through the ringer! We went on a snowshoeing/cross country skiing adventure & HE, my 10 year old, carried the Burley carrier with the 3 year old in it, the WHOLE way. There were no complaints the entire time. I only received this look at the very end when he had "had it" with the 3 year old!
So, yeah. Needless to say, he can give me all "the looks" he wants after that! It was insane! And our 3 year old is quite big for his age so this guy worked extra hard.
Adventure on, friends!
Date night feels 😊😘 Thankful for the entertainment and company this evening 😍😍 If you haven’t seen Netflix’s special, Magic for Humans with Justin Willman, you’re missing out! Super genuine guy who is just as personable on or off the tele/stage.
Fishtail Mountain, or Machapucchare, is a mountain which has never been touched by any human being.
It is believed to be the sacred mountain where Lord Shiva lives.

Do you hear the silence? 🏞 It's sometimes good to stray from the path. The temple from the picture was full of tourists. But the beautiful and green hillside with stunning panorama right next to the touristic spot was empty. Credits for this action goes to @jahyunes as he pushed me to hike for 15 min more 🚶♀️
Finally, the post about Katkhamndu is out. Complete 3 days trip plan with the list off attractions on my blog >>> link in BIO.

Hiking to Kapas Biru Waterfall after Tumpak Sewu in East Java. I was so tired after this hike and glad we hired a driver so I could take a little siesta on the way back to Malang 😴 // watch my new YouTube video. Link in bio.
"Studying abroad has completely changed my perspective of the world and how I interact with it." ⠀
Today, we're sharing a blog post from UW-Platteville student & #apiabroad alumni Josh Weaver, who studied with us in Seville, Spain. He shares how studying abroad gave him new perspectives — some in ways that he expected, and others that were a surprise. Check it out by clicking this picture at the link in our profile.
Golden Fringe 🌅
Exploring the most westerly point in Europe at sunset was insane 👌🏼 Went off track to discover a secret beach which I scrambled down the cliffs to reach 🧗🏼♂️
The waves at the bottom were pretty wild and after half an hour I ended up being forced off the beach by the tide and heading back up in the dark 🙃 🌊
Worth it any day 🤗
