I always look forward to my annual Washington trip. 💛 Another year of indulging in delicious food, exploring beautiful places, and hanging out with some great people! .
Most of my adventures from the past week are up on my highlight reel. Also, stay tuned for new blog posts on traveling the San Juan Islands.
You’ll find my heart in the deepest of oceans, the highest of mountains, the tallest of trees.
I’m in love with the sun, each star of our galaxy, this beautiful world and the journey of life. I loose myself in the forests, among the ever-changing leaves.
I weep beneath the wild sky as the moon tells tales of ancient times. I sway with flowers and dragon flies and the rivers call my name at night.
I could not live an ordinary day, for the mysteries of the universe are hidden in my eyes.
When I stop and look around, nature is wildly magic.
So our alarm went off at 5.30am.
Sunrise was at 6.34am and we had a 20 minute drive to get to the top of Monte Grona, the mountain which faces sunrise. 🌄
We had been seriously sleep deprived and tired from all the travelling. But we hadn’t got any footage of Como by drone yet when it had sunny weather so we were extra motivated. It was our last morning there before heading out to Milan so we wanted to make sure we got one last good shot.
Boy were we happy we woke up. The views up on Monte Grona were insane, the light hitting the lake was beautiful and the high clouds meant we got some clear views of what was all around us. ⛰
By some miracle we’ve managed to pack everything we need for camping and fit it into the car! 😜 I’m sure we deserve a special medal for that having not done it before 😂 Tonight this one managed to slam her thumb in the hinged side of the door 😢 and although it’s squished and bruised, she’s giggling again so that’s a good sign! Tomorrow we head off for a much needed break and our first family camping trip - let the adventures begin! 👨👩👧🚘⛺️
Does seeing this photo make you think "wow, I wish that was me"? It can be! Did you know we have programs in 3 different cities in New Zealand? ⠀
One of the best parts of studying in New Zealand are the picturesque, natural wonders.⠀
Our favorite way to explore this beauty outside of class is by traveling in a campervan to see all the sights that NZ has to offer.⠀
🇳🇿Do you want to go abroad with friends or by yourself? ⠀
🇳🇿 Do you want to explore the North or South Island? ⠀
🇳🇿 How long do you want to be there?⠀
These are just a few of the questions you should ask yourself when you start planning your trip. Interested in learning more? Send us a DM or click the link in our bio! ⠀

I know that public transport isn't everybody's favorite way to get around a city but, sometimes it's necessary. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even if you don't plan on taking it when you travel, it's still a good idea to know how it vaguely works int he city you're traveling in. So here are a few quick tips to help you navigate public transport around the world:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Get yourself a re loadable metro card so you don't have to spend time figuring out how much it costs to get from point A to B. A lot of big cities base ticket prices on where you start and where you get off at. So, if you get off at the wrong stop, you'll need to do a fare adjustment (I've only seen this in Japan tho)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Download some offline maps so you know where you're going. Google maps, city mapper, etc. (Let's avoid getting lost)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Be aware that in some cities, bus drives wont take cash and don't have change (again, get the metro card!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-Always be aware of your belongings. Pickpockets LOVE crowded trains and buses.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-For some, eating, drinking, loud talking is not allowed. In the Tokyo metro, you can hear a pin drop yet, in NYC there are full shows going on.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Got any more tips? Share in the comments!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
