On September 2, 2019, this Bombardier CRJ-900 N912FJ sat under the Ascent Aviation hangar awaiting maintenance. As of today, this 15.8 year old aircraft still flies for Mesa Airlines wearing the American Airlines livery. Configured for 86 passengers, manufactured at the Montreal Production Site (YMX) Serial Number 15012 operated for America West Express since her delivery on January 20, 2004. On September 27, 2005, N912FJ operated for US Airways Express. Her fleet number is 912.
The CRJ900 is a stretched 76–90 seat version of the CRJ700. The airplane is loosely based on the CRJ200 series with a few major improvements. The CRJ900 competes with the Embraer 175, and is more efficient per seat-mile, according to Bombardier.
Like most regional jets, she does not fly farther than 3 hours away. This aircraft flies to spokes that surround Sky Harbor Airport with Sioux Falls being its farthest destination of 2 hours and 47 minutes.
And Sioux Falls is not every day.
On Thursday March 10, 2011, Simon Hradecky of the Aviation Herald reported an incident regarding a Mesa CRJ9 at Long Beach on the day before. Registration N912FJ, a Mesa Airlines Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of US Airways blew a tire on takeoff. The aircraft was performing flight YV-2829/US-2829 from Long Beach to Phoenix with 82 people on board. The blown tire from Long Beach's runway 30 prompted the tower to instruct another aircraft on short final for crossing runway 25L to go around. The tower later advised aircraft operating on crossing runway 30 and 25L about possible debris. The Mesa crew continued to Phoenix and declared emergency on approach. The aircraft landed safely on Phoenix's runway 26. Light smoke emerged from the gear during landing. The aircraft taxied to the apron on its own power with emergency services following the aircraft.
So I haven’t really spoken much on the matter as I haven’t felt the need too, but now that time is passing and uncertainty is still in the air. I think it’s time. •
Firstly I want to thank everyone that has supported/ supporting Thomas Cook in these past few days. Without the company I would be no-where near the stage I’m currently at. I would of never dreamed of owning my own place, having the most amazing girlfriend and a.... cat at the age of 23. •
Everyday is a dream, I would never of been able to fly into Skiathos in the jumpseat, get to go to Banjul for an engine page and of course bring you guys n gals contents. •
Thank you everyone for all the support, let’s not let the sunset on another tour operator🧡🙏🏻
