Do you have a friend who did not matter much to you initially because of opposite behaviors, but eventually you grew up to complement each other? Almost all of us have a person who deserves to know everything about us, no matter how introverted we are. Initially, Bhaskar is often frustrated, looking at the commonly prevalent norms. He is too direct and usually annoying in expressing his opinions. Ideally, he would never have liked Anand, who imposes himself on others and asks them to come out of their comfort zone. However, Bhaskar or Babu Moshai (as Anand says), changes his opinions seeing Anand's happy-go-lucky nature despite his incurable illness. He surrenders himself to Anand's way of living, and the two then have a blast.
No matter how strict or reserve for others, Bhaskar feels comfortable in Anand's presence and opens up transparently to him. Anand, on the other hand, tries his best to maintain a smiling face in front of the world and finds it easy to befriend strangers, but keeps his closest thoughts to himself. He has a soft corner for Bhaskar and wants to spend his last few days with him in a cheerful mood rather than in sorrow. He knows that only Bhaskar can understand this and would let him live without a trace of concern. He wants people to remember him as a lively person rather than a patient and trusts Bhaskar with his wish. Bhaskar, who had lived his life with his own thoughts so far, follows Anand with mild reluctance in his activities such as meeting "Murari Lal" or proposing Renu.
Bhaskar would have been the first person to know about Anand's past love affair, but the lively soul did not want to leave his newly made best friend with more memories to cry upon. Anand also strives hard to free Bhaskar of his worries and talks to him about the meaning of life so that he lives more peacefully after Anand's departure. The friendship solidifies gradually as both of them earn from it. For Anand, he gets a new partner in his crimes who never objects or questions him. Bhaskar gets a new companion who he can open up and share thoughts with. And the depth of their friendship can best be understood from the climax scene when they are parted.
