Beautiful photo of Ricky and Lucy 💕this mother son duo share a strong bond. Read a little bit about them below
Lucy is 40 years old and Ricky is 27. They came to Silver Willow in 2012.
They were rescued by the OSPCA and Laura, from the cruel owner of a race horse farm. They were uncared for, and as a result their the hooves had actually grown up into their legs. They have been better since being on our farm, they get to live peacefully and have their feet cared for by a podiatrist every six weeks 👩⚕️ They will live out their lives here at Silver Willow Farm Animal Rescue.
Both Ricky and Lucy love their 🍌🍌!

Marmalade is one of our 3 munchkin cats! We adore her tiny little legs!
Marmalade is a VERY sweet, social, friendly girl! She loves to be petted and loves being near her humans!
She gets along great with everyone and would do well with other cats, dogs, and children too!
Marmalade has been to the groomer and is so soft! She has also had recent dental and bloodwork done too! She is a healthy girl who is fixed, vetted, vaccinated, and comes microchipped too!

🐩We rescued this guy from Oregon with the help of some great friends a year ago. He was just 11 weeks at the time and was the cutest little furball ever. I feel so blessed because we got him while he was still so young.
🐕Rescuing a puppy is not very common and usually you get older dogs with more behavioral factors and issues. We got so lucky!! _____
😍Kyzer has been such a joy for us. He is a lover, a total snuggler, likes 10:00 bedtimes, worships our other dog ziggy, puts his paw on you when he needs affection, loves our kids, is a great hiker, learns quickly and is full of goofiness.
💚My dogs bring me so much joy! I have always been an animal lover and can’t imagine not having the unconditional love from a dog ever.
🥰Are you a pet person? If so, what do you have? .
Shiloh, the big guy from Alabama is looking for his forever home where he can hang out with his family, watch football on Sunday’s and enjoy being an indoor dog. At Texas Wolfdog Project he eagerly greets visitors and leans against you waiting for you to pet him. Shiloh would do well as an only dog or in a home with a female who is not overly bossy and fairly relaxed. He loves his walks and is always searching the grass for critters for him to pounce on. This handsome boy loves belly rubs and looks forward to finding his forever home, so come visit him and the rest of the pack.
I am in full “I hate humans” mode today.• Donate to @rescuedogsrocknyc 🚨🚨911 HAPPENING NOW IN SC🚨🚨 Sheriff’s in Richland County, SC went out to serve an arrest warrant today & came across this poor emaciated soul, starved near to death, a prisoner out on that huge chain tied to that tree with that filthy blanket. No food, no shelter in the sweltering heat. His suffering is unimaginable. But wait!!! The story gets worse! Apparently the dog was abandoned there 3 months ago & the neighbors knew, but did NOTHING!!!! 😡🤬 They told Sheriff that they occasionally threw him some KFC!!! This is so sickening & so sad. They knew he was next door suffering, slowly dying & that’s the extent of their efforts! People are truly disgusting. All they had to do was call Animal Control. They said today he started whimpering. Hmm, maybe it was finally his day to die. 💔😥 Thank god for the Sheriffs who found him! They are taking him to our SC vet partner as we type. We are livid!!!! We are calling him Maddox & we hope we can count on you to help us save his precious life! 🙏 PLEASE DONATE & HELP:

We really do take for granted what facilities we have available at home for animal welfare, that’s why it is so important we support charities that are really trying to make a difference in places that need our extra help. Every animal deserves a second chance and it’s up to us to help give them that opportunity
And just like that, we have another #tailsnales this Sunday, 25th in Canton, MA at @trilliumcanton! Bring your pup for a full day of fun, sun, and 🍻! The event will be from 1-4pm and a portion of all sales will be donated to @survivortails Rescue Shelter. Survivor Tails will be bringing some adorable pups who are desperately looking for their forever home ❤️ we look forward to seeing you all soon!! #cocochew#brushnaturally#animalrescue
Look at that handsome face! Already people are expressing interest in him 💞 he'll stay with me for at least 1month, depending on how well he's eating, shedding and behaving 🦎🌈 I've been very emotional this evening so holding him made me cry as I remembered my beardie back when I was a teenager 😭🦎💞🌈
Throwback Thursday. Me when I first arrived at my new home. I had two bad eyes, mum said it was something about cherries? Cherries eye maybe.. my boobs were sooo embarrassing they nearly touched the floor! I was yellow at my feet where I had to lie in my own pee And I was just soo scared. I thought my new dad would hurt me like my old dad but he’s actually really nice, he lets me share the sofa with him! Just goes to show that with a bath and a bit of love you can get anywhere!
Two of the four dogs tonight. Henry and Duncan. Duncan is a wolf hybred that will need a very special home that can take care of his special food needs and space requirements. Henry is also looking for a very special owner. .
Christopher day my down for a one one on one talk this morning. “Seen any good movies lately Christopher?” “Contrary to what is often advertised, white tigers are not an actual species of tiger found regularly in the wild. In fact, the only way for white tigers to be produced is from inbreeding. Due to many generations of inbreeding there is at least an 80 percent mortality rate in white tiger cubs, and many are born with deformities such as bulging foreheads, cleft palates and spinal disease.” #whitetigers#tigers#notpets#animalrescue#bigcats
Early this morning. Mona (rescued from a roadside zoo in Colorado in 2016) and Tangassi and being introduced to each other slowly. There have been some positive signs of them possibly being able to love together in the same enclosure someday. African lions are very social in the wild in what we know are prides. #lion#lioness#animalrescue#bigcats#notpets#animalkeeper#animalcare
Let me tell you about our girl Olive.
Olive was the street dog living in our neighborhood that took us a couple of months to catch. The morning that we finally were able to bring her home a neighbor called me in the early morning to let me know she was out front of the gate of the sanctuary. Still in my pajamas and barefoot I approached her slowly as I opened the gate and off she ran...go figure. •
I took off after her every once in a while as I would get somewhere close. She would stop and get in the fetal position in a way that made me feel like she wanted me to catch her but she just was still very unsure. We continued like this for about 2 1/2 blocks until she finally just stopped and curled up and gave in and started shaking. I picked her up and she cried and something came over me standing there barefoot in my pajamas and in a neighbors yard I don’t even know I too cried holding this sunburnt, terrified individual for a very long time. Then we slowly walked home and the healing began. ❤️
All in all there's so many stories like this that really make realize what my true purpose is, and I know that everything will work itself out in the end. We will keep trying out different ways to raise funds to get into a larger property, and still always looking for the right spot for us and our animals. Unfortunately properties in California are hard to come by with everyone wanting to live here, but the hunt continues.

🇨🇳 • CHINA
The reality for a dog caught up in the meat trade industry. Once all these dogs are caught and contained, they then find themselves on their way to the slaughterhouse. However, some of them don’t make it. Some of them are intercepted by local rescuers who negotiate their release, often for more than the market would offer. And once they’re off the truck, then what? Where do they all go? Adoptions aren’t always fast and the numbers being to pile up, conditions become poorer and the dogs’ health begins to deteriorate. Local compounds without means of promotion become overrun so quickly, so whilst intentions are in the best interests of the meat trade dogs they can often find themselves living in poverty. This is NOT all of China, this is NOT all of the Chinese, but it is a HUGE welfare issue 💔
✨Resident Spotlight!✨ Meet one our newest Residents: Hercules!
This handsome roo was one of three sweet feathered friends that were transported here last week from Orange County Humane Society in California. Farm Sanctuary California contacted us about a month ago saying that we were their last hope for rescue. We worked with the woman that facilitated the rescue and welcomed Hercules and his two friends into their forever home at SoulSpace. We have so many birds and adore them all equally and unconditionally. We are currently one of the only sanctuaries that continues to take in these sweet souls.
Please consider sponsoring these three or any of our other 32 feathered friends. It means the world to them and to the whole SoulSpace family! To sponsor, visit soulspacesanctuary.com/sponsor.
Hei Hei and Adaline, the other two birds in this trio, will be introduced soon! 💙
We'll be at the cat cafe space this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 11-3, accepting any donations (see below) and for any of our artist friends to come and hang their work for display. (Please bring whatever you need to do so.) That's 360 State Lane, Orlando.
The delays from our original timeline have really zapped our budget, so we're putting out a call for anyone who would like to donate cat toys or towers, or small items of furniture for the cafe, especially bookshelves, end tables, coffee tables, and any beanbag or really comfy chairs. Blankets, couch pillows, anything that might help us make things more comfortable and homey.
If you have any questions, let us know!

Day 13 - Tic was about two-and-a-half years old when our director found him wearing human baby clothes and sitting on the roof of a car in the parking log of an urban apartment complex. A man who had purchased him a year- and-a-half earlier as a “toy” for his children had brought him to the apartment complex to amuse his friends. Tic was living in a small cage on the back porch of the man’s house and sometimes was allowed inside to play with the children. The family cared for Tic and had not mistreated him intentionally. They fed him as well as they knew how, but they lacked any understanding of his emotional and social needs. And they had no real awareness that buying the infant had helped feed a horrible, illegal trade in orphans. The family was convinced to surrender him willingly, so he could have a better life, and authorities were not involved. The man claimed he couldn’t even remember the name of the person who sold him Tic.
After so much time with a human family, Tic was very humanized. It took time for him to begin enjoying his life with other chimpanzees. Today, Tic lives in Mintak’s social group of 12. He has friends in the group and seems reasonably well adjusted, but he still seems to enjoy interacting with humans as much as chimpanzees. Fortunately, his human caregivers understand him and give him the attention he needs.

👋🏼 Hi friends! Just dropping in with some adorable pictures of Rayne 💚 the rays to my sunshine 🌞 .
For our new friends & followers this mare was rescued a little over a year ago from kill lot in Tennessee. < what’s that mean?! > well it’s basically as horrible as it sounds.. people send their horses to auction yard... those who don’t get purchased get shipped to slaughter.. 😔 you might be asking yourself, we don’t eat horse in the U.S. so why are we slaughtering horses? Well it’s a delicacy in other countries.. With the help of friends I was able to save her hours from slaughter .. #7399 was the only information I knew about her. A long six hour drive later in the pouring rain home has bonded us forever. She is my rainbow 🌈 The inspiration for my animal rescue, the driving force for being vegan, a muse for my art and so much more. I love you Rayne, thank you for changing my life.
URGENT! FUND AND FOSTERS NEEDED! Hoarding Case at Carson Shelter and now Cat Families need Rescue!!! See link in bio to donate!
The Carson Shelter is asking for help for more rescues to save families and kittens. We are dedicated to help this shelter but can't do it on our own.
The shelter just notified us that they will be getting in 20+ cats this weekend due to a hoarding case and need to make room. Kitten season is still unfortunately in full force and there are currently SIX cat families at the shelter that need rescue - SIX! Someone also just turned in 7 20 minutes ago. There is simply not enough room at the shelter to house and care for all these cats and they are desperate for help. The shelter has asked us to rescue these families by Tuesday of next week but they can be put down at anytime due to space they want the out NOW!
We need fosters and FUNDS to rescue these families! Each family cost around $200 just in pull fees and if they are sick, they need funds for vetting and sometimes medical boarding - low estimate is around $500 each family.
The families pictured here are listed in order of urgency and priority- the first one needs rescue tomorrow FRIDAY 8/23!
** To foster, please go to http://www.carsoncats.com/foster and complete our foster questionnaire
**If you can donate ANY amount, please go to our website at http://www.carsoncats.com/donate (takes credit cards) or to paypal directly at paypal.me/carsoncats
