Customs Seize N2.8million Worth Of Tramadol In Lagos
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Command, yesterday said that it intercepted an ambulance conveying 10 cartons of 225 milligrammes (mg) of stolen Tramadol in Apapa Port.
Controller, Apapa Port, Muhammad Abba-Kura, who paraded the vehicle and the drugs yesterday, said the ambulance, with registration number LND605XW, was intercepted with the drugs worth about N2.8 million while trying to smuggle it out of the port in an emergency manner.
He said two suspects were arrested in connection with the deal and investigations ongoing to further uncover those behind the deal.
The Organized Private Sector (OPS) report presented by Mauricio Alarcon, NECA’s 2nd vice president to a capacity audience at the AGM, specifically showed that about N3.06 trillion ($10 billion) on non-oil export and N2.5 trillion earnings annually, across the different sectors of the economy are lost due to the Apapa gridlock.
