Being able to identify weaknesses under maximal load and address them in accessory work is one of the best tools an athlete can utilize to get better. I realized through where most my lifts breakdown and found that it’s often due to a lack of lower back strength. If you go back to the previous maximal effort lift, you could see that while I complete the lift, my hips shoot up first showing a lack of lumbar region strength to pull back and out of the hinged starting position. This could also be a potential form or set up issue as well in the lack of syncing between the lower and upper half in the pull. Therefore it’s important to make the differential between a basic form and strength issue. However most of the time, technique is rooted in strength and the ability to get into the most ideal advantageous positions in the first place.

"I was close to not doing the Open this year, but so happy I changed my mind. I decided not to put as much pressure on myself, try and enjoy each workout as it came and not repeat any of them. (I did repeat one workout)
I'm really happy with the progress in this years Open, particularly on the gymnastics and lifting side which I have worked on over the past 6 months. Pleased to see I was a lot more consistent across the 5 workouts.

My whole life I have always been too small. I’ve always been to Indian. I’ve always been too this, too that, not enough this and not enough that. I started my own fitness journey in hopes that I could please everyone and fulfill all expectations people had of me. .
People are always going to point out flaws. They are always going to tear you down to make themselves feel better about their own downfalls. .
I’ve been so much happier ever since I took control, and stopped using other people’s goals for me as my own goals. It is time to take control of your life, because at the end of the day, you’re the one who has to live with your own decisions and accomplishments
