  • Match Preview;
Arsenal head to Anfield this weekend in what will be our toughest challenge yet where much will be learned about this current crop of players. To get a Liverpool insight, I spoke to @_this_is_anfield.
Liverpool;
“Our form has been decent, in pre-season we seemed shaky losing a few games against the likes of Sevilla, Napoli and Dortmund but since the beginning of the season we've picked it up with a 4-1 win against Norwich on opening day. The super cup win definitely prolonged the overall morale which definitely helped in the tight win over Southampton. In defence we haven't looked as solid as last season and it seems we're relying on the centre backs to keep things tight with our fullbacks playing quite high. That is of course a strength aswell as a weakness because they can be so lethal on the attack without quality of their crosses but leaves the wings open. The danger man would be Sadio Mané as he's in incredible form and seems untouchable on the ball. With his pace and finishing ability, he will score lots of goals this season. In terms of play style (like I said before), we play with the fullbacks quite high and we attack wide and central with the pacy wingers who are multi faceted and cut inside. I predict a 2-1 win for Liverpool.”
Arsenal; “Following back to back wins with lessened sides, Arsenal are flying high. That being said, this will be their first real challenge where we’ll truly see where this side is at. Though Liverpool haven’t looked themselves at times, they’re still an incredible side who have caused us a lot of pain in recent trips to Anfield. The major talking point is going to be how Emery sets up his midfield. Following Ceballos’ masterclass last week in conjunction with Ozil’s lack of game time, one can assume that the Spaniard will start. Xhaka who has been one of Emery’s go to selections will return but in place of who? Willock? Guendouzi? Both of which would feel heart done by to be dropped. Pepe will also probably not get the start as he’s yet to complete a full 90mins. I’m hoping we can keep up our improved defensive record. I’m going to try and be optimistic and go with a 2-1 W for Arsenal. COYG.” Match Preview; Arsenal head to Anfield this weekend in what will be our toughest challenge yet where much will be learned about this current crop of players.
