I often get requests for product recommendations and questions about the stuff we use with the axolotls, so I've decided to make a series of posts about the things we use practically every day and literally cannot do without! 👍

This one is more of a hack/confession combo than a recommendation. I don't buy my worms at pet stores. Instead, I buy them from our local outdoor store. I bought from pet stores for over a year, but the available quantity and quality of the worms has been consistently better at the outdoor store.
I feel like it's worth mentioning that I feed all of the axolotls in my care worms as their primary staple, specifically trout worms and nighrcrawlers. All of the pellet foods I've posted about over the last week or so are fed mainly as snacks and not really offered frequently enough or in a high enough quantity to be considered a major part of their diet. Sharing them is primarily to help others know what I use and that a particular product is safe to use with axolotls.

(I was NOT given anything or offered any compensation to make these posts. There's a lot of misinformation out there and I just want to help others have positive experiences and make sound, educated choices regarding the care and keeping of their axolotl. 😁)
