Yes! I love this quote it's through and through true💪 as much as I love being a mum only 14 months on I know how hard it can be and only imagine how harder it may become!
Having postnatal depression isn't something that you choose or bring on yourself, it's an illness that you cannot control.
It doesn't go away or disappear by "thinking positive" or "sleeping when baby sleeps", it takes energy, support, professional help, strength and even medication if you have to... And you know what? That's ok! It's ok to not be okay! To crumble, to scream, cry, shout or just zone out as though it's just you in the room or world even... It's not OK to not reach out!
It's not OK to stay quiet!
It's not OK to try and fight it alone!
It's not OK to be scared and nervous when you've just given birth and made a miracle!
It's not OK to deprive yourself or self care or love for that matter because
YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT MAMA!
YOU ARE UNIQUE, YOU ARE SPECIAL AND
YOU ARE DOING THE BEST YOU CAN!
I know how hard it gets, I know that sometimes you just want the ground to swallow you up, I know that sometimes you sit and cry or just cover your ears when baby is crying, I know that you sometimes feel as though it's all too much and you can't make it through another day.... I know the fear and horrible feelings you go through because I've been there and sometimes I still am. But you can make it through another day/night/feed/nappy-change/bath time and the list goes on, because you have the power within you!
Ask for help, whether it's from a neighbour, your mum, sister, friend who ever is around and remember to look after you too, happy mum= happy baby💕👌 You've got this more than you know... @ceylanstory#postpartum#postnataldepressionawareness#mama#babyandme#postnataldepressionsurvivor#itsokaynottobeokay#mentalillness#supportingeachother#pndsurvivor#fightingdepression#anxiety#mumsrus#ukmumstogether#strongertogether#mamavillage#mentalhealth#babylove#thestruggleisreal#ukmums#usamums#mumslikeus#breakingthestigma
