Helping people is good for the soul. I personally can’t help but be a “helper”. Sometimes I help too much and the people close to me miss out. It’s a hard balance but ultimately we have make sure our people and OURSELVES are taken care of first. What good are we to anyone else if we aren’t 100%? School is about to start, my job starts back up a week after and that’s when the “Can you do this? Can you do that? We need this many people to commit for this and that....” I hope I can remember that it’s okay to say NO. No explanations need to be given. When we start to give explanations and excuses we tend to get roped in anyways. Am I alone? Please tell me I’m not alone 😬
Any other Mama’s out there that struggle with major mom guilt? I came in from a session last night, sent Chelsea on a night alone, and cried as I rocked Zoey to sleep. Being a single Mom is painful. I find myself so often hyper focused on providing that I forget to enjoy these tiny moments. With my oldest gone off to college I know all too well how quickly these moments pass. There is a million things i cant do, and everything i can do i couldn’t do a week-month-year or two ago.
Their isn’t any hidden secrets, you can try and learn everything about something and try to find the thing that will convince you to do something or that you can do it, or maybe that you can’t and so won’t do it.
But I truly believe that if you spend your time waiting, searching for that, limitations are being set and some precious time is slipping by.
So much lies in the experience, in failing, in persisting, in believing, in the work, in the mentality, and in the consistency, get after it and improve as you go, learn as you go, be attentive, be aware, don’t rush but go for it and keep going until you get it. The weight room has been my home for the past couple decades but gymnastics was my entire childhood. Shout-out to @simonsterstrength for inspiring me to get back into it. His mid flare pause to planche push up, and then reverse direction flare, in the Strength Project video is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen - a true master of movement and body control.
FINALLY!!! The long awaited FULL BODY CIRCUIT! This is a circuit I’ve been doing the past several weeks and it’s exactly what has helped me figure out what my body has been craving.
