  • The second major piece I ever wrote. At least the beginning of it. God I miss my typewriters but I can’t even get her to respond regarding my Chicago and RENT posters. They’re at the house in Argyle and I’d really like to get them fixed up. That’s why I type two spaces at the end of sentences no matter what anybody says. @frynaomifry @newyorkermag @theatlantic. I was really young. Before I could spell words, Bobbie would stand peeling carrots, and I’d ask her how to spell things like “grandma” at my little desk. As soon as I learned letters: before most if not all of the other kids. Not to toot my own horn... but I learned how to read VERY early from logos. The word underneath the golden arches is “McDonald’s.” Also Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers. @sesamestreet @pbs. Thank God for PBS: we should fund them better! I’m missing the end because my parents throughout most of the stuff that was important to me from childhood without asking me when we move to Argyle Texas, where I won #kishkash (@basement_jaxx) for placing first in the WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT AMERICA contest, applauding our first amendment rights and reminding everyone slavery still exists some places: while I attended Argyle Middle School. #patriotism not #jingoism #endwhitenationalism #endracism #marilynstephens is teaching #jewelryclasses and I miss #carolynmatteson. I hugged her once or twice (appropriately) because our English class at Denton High School was so unruly and mean it would sometimes make her cry after class. I could be a handful at times yes, certainly. But I really am a sweet guy, believe it or not. I can be vicious especially verbally and definitely loud (PTA conferences out the ass. First one in kindergarten to tell Bobbie and Steve, “He’s very smart, but he’s SO LOUD and it bothers the other children.”) but I have my shit together these days. #sims #chumbley #beard. #woodrowwilsonelementary. REMEMBER YOUR GOOD TEACHERS! They’re so important to me. To this day. The second major piece I ever wrote. At least the beginning of it.
