  • #mondaymood when the weather is too beautiful to pass up, you cruise to grab some last minute groceries on your bike. 🚲
.
I wear a helmet anytime I ride a bike, even short distances (which to be honest, that’s all I really do anyway). Last summer my husband was riding his bike to work and got right hooked by a car who turned into him. He was taken to the hospital and treated for a mild concussion and stitches (no broken bones 🦴 thankfully!). I had just went out of town that morning and didn’t even know about the accident until his new boss text me to ask why he wasn’t at work... (keep your emergency contacts up to date, it really matters!). Long story short, he was okay (black eyes, bruising, scrapes and scars, with the concussion being the worst of it IMO), his bike was totaled, and if he hadn’t been wearing his helmet, I imagine the scenario would have been much different. 🤕
.
So my PSA today is BE SAFE. Wear a helmet! ⛑ And enjoy the sunny weather! ☀️ #mondaymood when the weather is too beautiful to pass up, you cruise to grab some last minute groceries on your bike. 🚲 . • #CRPA was proud to support Raahauge’s Youth Outdoor Adventure Day on Saturday with volunteers and Range Safety Officers! This is what it’s all about, passing on the passion of #2A on to the next generation. These young people were learning to operate a rifle safely with close, individual #RSO supervision. #rangeday #youthshootingsports #besafe #rangesafety #safetyfirst #crpa was proud to support Raahauge’s Youth Outdoor Adventure Day on Saturday with volunteers and Range Safety Officers! • Within America, unintentional deaths from the medical system in general are the third legal leading cause of death 🤯 Yes, the third!
😓
Experts suggest that in 2016 medical mistakes were a large portion of that, estimating that 174,902 Americans die from medical errors every year.

Sometimes mistakes are unavoidable and can occur from lack of information, mistakes are common.
🏥
However, according to this international study about half of these errors could have been stopped, about 12% of these medication mix ups and surgical mistakes were severe or even deadly, and as many as 6 out of 7 mistakes go unreported, meaning these numbers could be low.
😷
To err is only human, but in a hospital setting this can prove to be devastating. According to this international study over 8% of patients around the globe are hurt by medical mistakes, and half of those are preventable with 12% of them being fatal or lead to permanent disability.
💊
“This is one of the largest studies ever conducted on the frequency and severity of patient harm,” said Dr. Albert Wu of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.. “And it provides evidence that these harms occur in all medical care settings. It’s a problem that needs our attention.”
