  • Very sorry to hear of #Swedish born US Open 9-Ball Champion #HelenaThornfeldt’s passing. This pic is the last time I saw her in 2014 when she played in my Women's International Pool Championship in NYC. I remember our last conversation, she mentioned to me how she appreciated what I do for the sport and how hard it is to be a promoter in pool. Meant a lot to me coming from her, a legendary veteran who’d been around the world of pool for so long. I remember even further back probably 20 years ago just my second year on the pro tour, practicing hours with her and at the end her thanking me for playing with her. She was always so sincere. She was a strong player and was one of the elite group of women who dominated and progressed the #WPBA in the early days. I loved her candor, bluntness, and transparency. She was a no nonsense person yet very nice and approachable. I wish we could’ve had more chats and that I could’ve visited her place in Georgia and eat those famous Swedish meatballs she loved to make. Rest In Peace sweetie. You will be missed 🙏🏽 🇸🇪 #billiards #billiardslife Very sorry to hear of #swedish born US Open 9-Ball Champion #helenathornfeldt’s passing.
