When I successfully rooted a Hoya cutting last May 2019, it felt so satisfying that I wanted more more Hoyas.
I started buying established mother plants but, some of them died. 😅 I was a plant atat back then. Mahal ng mother plant sa totoo lang. So technically ang dami na nasayang na pera at halaman. Pero di naman nagbabasa ng caption asawa ko, so ok lang yan. Secret lang natin yan guys.
For some of you, hoyas die on you due to root rot.. but for me, it's the other way around.. they get extremely dry and they lose all the sap in them. 😭 Ang tamad ko kasi magdilig. And it only means.. na hindi pwede sakin ang purong bunot medium.
I tried to salvage some of them through cuttings, and some are successful. 😊 So I am more of the Hoya head who enjoys seeing them root under my care.. a cutting blooming into a full grown plant.
One of the best examples would be this #hoyacarnosakrimsonqueen. It was just a cutting from my BKK trip. Now established. Well rooted. With a few new leaves.
And so I want to create my own mother plant. And yepp, it may take years.. but, who's in a hurry? I'm not. 😂 Patience has been one of the best and most important virtue, I Iearned from my plant journey. 👌 So more cuttings for me.
