The root chakra is located at the base of the spine & is associated with the colour red & with the element earth.
Its function aids in feelings of security & survival, grounding us & creating a foundation for our lives. It roots us to Mother Earth, instinctively making a safe space.
When our root chakra is unbalanced we may have negative & anxious thought patterns, feel insecure & emotional & feel no sense of safety which we project into our everyday lives. If overactive we may become greedy, materialistic & allow our egos to take over.
To help balance the root chakra get out in to nature more (preferably barefoot) & enjoy what she has to offer & meditate if you can; visualise a red warm glow at the base of your spine & repeat the seed mantra LAM, see & feel the red glow growing throughout your body giving you a relaxed & safe feeling.
Others things associated with the root♂
Crystals♂red jasper, black tourmaline, red carnelian
Herbs & foods♂dandelion, rosemary, pomegranate
Yoga poses♂vrksasana, tadasana, malasana
