At the beach today, the thunder started to roll in at the end of the day so we decided to pack up our beach camp. But we wanted to explore an area that is a delicate habitat for nesting birds before we left. We let him go first to see what is around the corner. He loves birds and we found very large seagulls waiting for dinner just ahead! We named it “crab cove” because it has so many of the cutest little crabs popping their heads in and out of the sand! On our walk back to our car, several deer were walking along the bike paths. All this just a ferry ride away from lower Manhattan! So much to be discovered at Sandy Hook National seashores!
