Do you remember the first time you saw the Northern Lights? ✨
This time of year always makes me nostalgic for the first time I saw the Northern Lights. It was November 2015 and I had no idea what an impact it would have on me. *
I knew it had to be spectacular, after all almost everyone I knew said they wanted to see it. But little did I know that it would start a fascination with night photography, light and the beautiful Arctic nature. *
When they first appeared on the sky that night I was convinced it was a small band of clouds. There was no visible movement and my eyes couldn’t recognise the colour. Luckily the camera did and my adrenaline started pumping. This was it. It was happening. Time just flew by. Before I knew it, i had been standing outside, watching it dance and trying to capture it for more than four hours. *
What a night. I was flashed by the unpredictability, the excitement and the magnitude of it all. It was nature’s evening entertainment, something so simple yet so grand that it made me feel part of something bigger. *
Do you remember the first time you saw the Northern Lights? Was it everything you imagined it would be?
