Ahhh...that golden hour. We are halfway thru summer and I have yet to get a solid summer schedule down. What happens when you’re immersed in ice skating competition season (older daughter), transitioning from competitive basketball to competitive tennis (son), and helping the little one figure out what her sport will be (tennis, basketball, or swim). Despite it being a super busy season, I’ve managed to get my workouts in and in return, they have kept me sane and intact 😂 Wondering what program I’m doing? My own! I did my own workouts post 2.5 years of BBG and then did a year of Alexia Clark’s program to learn how to lift properly, and now I *think* I’ve figured out what to do with myself 😜 I’ve never been one to lack motivation; I’ve never been one to lack discipline. It’s always been setting goals for myself and trying to figure out how to achieve them. Hope you all have been enjoying your summer!
ROME ❤️ daar ben ik me hartje verloren en geld 🤣. Want wat zijn we een paar keer opgelicht geweest zeg 🙈. Maar wat een heerlijke plek is dit. Hier komen wij echt zeker een keertje terug! Fijn wandelen / heerlijk shoppen / geweldig eten 🥰. Wat wil je nog meer ?!
Big track workout for me this morning! Mile repeats seems so basic when you follow them with 90-second recovery and a 400 sprint (x3).🤪 It felt good to push myself on the track again - it’s been so long! I’ve been sharing my Garmin splits from my Wednesday workouts in my stories each week, so you can take a peek there if you’re into that stuff.⌚️🤓 After this 10-mile morning and a workout at @_instaphysique at lunch later today (I schedule these leg/core workouts after my hard-effort runs), I think I’ll be treating myself to a luxurious epsom salt bath tonight!💆🏼♀️🛁 109 days to NYC... #traininglog#workoutwednesday
The heaviest squat I’ve ever done was 185 and that was back in 2016. Fast forward to today after restarting my weightlifting journey :) 180 lbs 2x2! So close to the 200 club. I’ll get there eventually. Happy dance 💃🏼
Energy is everything to me! I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to connect with @sweetzmonroe She is just an uplifting, motivating, and an intriguing soul. Thanks for working out with me yesterday and just being YOU🤗
I AM STILL AVAILABLE FOR TRAINING
SQUATS!! Today I spent a good bit of my leg workout on squatting. Some people try to lift heavier than they are able too which can cause poor form and there’s a high possibility it could lead to injury. When I started squatting I even found it difficult to squat with just a 45lb bar. Over the last year and a half I have built up the weight I use when squatting gradually but first I had to perfect my form. This time last year I could barely squat 135lbs for 5 reps and now I can do 12 reps plus at that weight. That might not be impressive to some people but for me I’m happy with it especially when I haven’t been as consistent as I’d like to be. My one rep max is 205lbs and I was aiming to do that today but as you can see from the third video I was trying for 185lbsx3reps and I failed at the last rep so I left my squats for today at that. For getting the correct form for squats and being able to lift heavy you have to be patient. Start off the squat with feet shoulder width apart and feet slightly turned out, chest raised and a neutral spine. When you’re squatting don’t let your knees buckle and try and push them out. Squat until your hips are lower than your knees ( man behind me in the third video did not grasp this concept 😂) and drive your heels into the ground, never lift them. Your descent should be slow and controlled then a bit quicker with more power on the way back up. Always keep your neck neutral and do not strain it. I used to hate squats but now I’m obsessed! I love being able to lift heavier and I love the feeling of becoming stronger. Squats have helped me grow the glutes and quads big time! Hope this helps ✌🏼
3 years ago I was 25 lbs heavier. I hated my legs. Hated my mom pooch. I was literally hiding myself from the world. Because I was so afraid of judgement.
Skip ahead til now. You’ll see me smiling more. Wearing shorts. Wearing dresses. And sharing this super awesome journey that changed my life for the better.
Girl if your tired of feeling stuck in those baggy T-shirt’s. Tired of squeezing into those jeans that you so badly want to fit into again. Then we need to talk because no life is worth living afraid. No life is worth hiding in the shadows. You need to sparkle and shine bright just like God made you to be! 💕
