We just returned from a lovely three night stay at William Watson Lodge in Peter Lougheed park in K Country. The weather was perfect, the sights were glorious and it was quiet, so quiet! I was lucky that there were wheelchairs available so I could explore further with the family.
We still have quite a bit on our summer bucket list! What's left on yours?
We are taking in every last second of summer!! Temps have been dropping at night and although it makes for great sleep I'm not ready for summer to end!
Top 3 on our list: ▫️Hike to a lake named Nolan Lake with in an hour of our house! ▫️Camp in the flat tops! ▫️Hike a 14er!
Hey y’all 👋🏼 It’s been a slice! I guess life gets a little more hectic when you add another baby into the mix. BUT the good news is we fiiiinally made it out to the mountains again and I’M SO HAPPY💛(we are missing a child, but he’s living the life at summer camp currently)🥳
Sometimes sunshine and fresh air is the best medicine. 🐾Oh, and puppy love!!! 🐶🐾
On the days where I get off from work at the hospital earlier than expected sometimes stretching and practicing breathing techniques can be relaxing and therapeutic. In this day and age we constantly live life in the fast lane. Every now and then it’s good to take a few minutes from the chaos to just stop and be still. Relaxation and meditation can be just as important to your healthy lifestyle as exercise and nutrition!

Behind the scenes.
Lest you forget I’m for real. 😀
This is my kitchen counter right this minute. And for the last....who knows how many minutes.
Am I scared to death to show what a mess it is?
My behind the scenes is messy, real life, right here in your face, facing my fears kind of messy.
Am I too busy to clean it up? No. 👎
Am I taking a deep breath and saying to myself, “one thing at a time”
Even if that one thing at a time is NOT clean the counter.
That’s WAY too much. My one thing at a time is literally - put the pencil in the drawer.
Then, put the cereal away. Next, throw the receipt away.
And if thats too much? Breath, go for a ride around the block on my bike. And start over.
P.S. to all my neighbors who see me out on my bike this is could likely be the reason I’m out and about. 🚲
Do I have clean counters occasionally? Yes. Do they last long? Most likely not.
My motto “one thing at a time” to get through overwhelm comes and goes.
Right now I’m going for a ride on my bike. See you in real life y’all.
First night at home in our little 1960 rancher on five acres in Eagle, Idaho. Ca. 1995
Eagle was a one blinking caution-light town with a little IGA grocery store where I picked up the best ribeye steaks I’ve ever had before or since. My father helped us move and was so happy to fire up the grill. The tiny old library had squeaky floors, and there was only one hair salon- the Curl Up and Dye ( where I had Ken take me back to blonde). It had the best coffee shop and the Smoky Mountain Pizza where they actually had Burnt Butter and Myzithra pasta on the menu. Good times, good memories.
