I came across this encouragement in one of my devotions this week and I pray it gives your heart as much hope that it gave mine. Sometimes we're so hard on ourselves we forget to celebrate the small, everyday victories. We have to remind ourselves that slow progress is still progress. Let's keep taking those baby steps and living one day a time, trusting God to take us the distance in our journey. Baby steps my friends, baby steps! 💕
HOW TO: WRITE YOUR CV
So hey there again guys! 🤭We’re back with our HOW TO! And today’s session is on your curriculum vitae (C.V)👩🏽💼
There are basic steps to consider when getting your CV ready for submission to your place of work. In the image above is a practical layout of how your CV should contain. (Your CV should have a format, your name, address, telephone number, and email at the top of the page, a personal profile, a section for your education and qualifications, a section for work experience, a section for skills and achievements, interests, other information and references)
However, there are other things to do to get your CV in a very top-notch, irrefutable state.
FIRST thing to note is to consider the place of work! Research the company. A good CV is tailored to the specific job and company you are applying for. What does the company do? What is their mission statement? You definitely do not want to input “inappropriate” material into your CV. That says a lot about you.
SECOND thing to note is to check your spelling and grammar. As women of substance and excellence, the last thing you’d want is a CV that’s full of errors which clearly says “I am careless.” THIRD thing to note, read your CV as if you were the company you are applying to. What do you think about the layout and the information written there? Do you come across as a professional? If not, let’s check it.
FINALLY, proofread for any sentences that could be written more concisely. CVs that are concise and well-written tend to do better than long-winded CVs that have repetitive information.

TRUTH BOMB AHEAD 💣💣💣
Almost 8 years ago this guy walked into my life.
To be completely vulnerable and real with you all, prior to Adam coming in my life there was a lot of chaos. There were a lot of places and relationships where I just wasn't safe to be myself.
I built up walls to protect myself from people that constantly violated my boundaries, talked about me behind my back, ridiculed who I was because it was so different from them, and didn't want to try to even understand my experience or point of view.
The past 8 years, those walls have come crumbling down.
Because Adam gave me the space to be safe, to be my truest and realest self and he loved me for every weird, different, broken thing.
He held my heart gently and loved me THROUGH my childhood and young adulthood trauma.
Recently, I was surrounded with a lot of those old people, relationships and environments...and I was suddenly reminded why I had grown so hard all those years ago.
To be truthful, it kind of shook me. I had forgotten what it was like to have to live like that EVERY SINGLE DAY. I forgot what it was like to be living in that constant anxiety and turmoil (an emotional war zone, really).
After processing for days and days now, I feel like I need to say this---to whoever may need to hear it:
Stop feeling guilty for not having close relationships with people that are constantly sucking the life and joy and peace right out of you.
I don't care it it's your dad, mom, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, grandparent, in-laws...whoever. If it's not good for your mental, spiritual, physical or emotional health to have a close relationship with that person, then THAT IS OKAY AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT.
I'm officially giving you permission to be free of that guilt. YOU.ARE.WELCOME. 😘
It's okay to keep your distance in order to protect your peace. Read that again. Some relationships are just that, RELATIONSHIPS...it doesn't mean they have to be CLOSE or INTIMATE relationships. I hope this reminder in my life also speaks to you.
