  • Hitting you with some #realtalk this evening!
Now let me start by saying I really don’t like to be negative, especially when it comes to my business page, it’s not how I want people to see me or my work. .
However, I’ve literally just got home from day one of @wellschristmasmarket and it wasn’t the easiest. The weather was definitely challenging, though the sun came out and winds died down for us this afternoon. Markets are hard. Work. .
I adore what I do, by being on your feet from 5am - 6pm, keeping a smile on your face all day, talking to people non stop (about a subject I’m more than happy talking about don’t get me wrong!!) selling your passion for it and advising customers all while weaving, and surviving on very few cups of tea and a quick bite to eat when there’s a break in the crowds, setting up, taking down, unpacking back at the studio AND keeping the positive vibes throughout all of that even when people are just being, quite frankly, bloody rude and hurtful (not all of them, but you know you just get some that really eat away at your confidence a little!!) is not at all easy!! .
Safe to say I’m now completely drained, ready for some food and a large drink before I collapse in bed!! .
I’ll just leave you with a little request, not just for me but for all indie designer makers - if you don’t like their work, their prices or even them.. maybe wait until your out of earshot before you tut, shake your head or say you can buy that product from a charity shop!!!! We honestly aren’t trying to rip you off, we know we aren’t going to be every ones cup of tea, or in everyone’s budget! But we are just trying to share our passion with you and earn an honest living! So please just think and be kind! 🧡
