Cherry tomatoes are in full swing! These unripe green ones promise to ripen into beautiful rich reds and brilliant oranges depending on the variety. Watching them change and develop daily is a great reminder of how much we appreciate the sweet summer season!
Getting ready to make some deliveries today in Fredericksburg. Eggs, veggies, watermelons and sourdough bread. 😋 I burnt my hand multitasking my bread game. Sad face. 3 loaves may have been a bit overconfident, but you never know until you try. 1 loaf for my family and 2 for my egg people. 😉
A "quick half hour" at the allotment turned into two and a half hours of weeding, digging, planting and harvesting. The kids will have galloping shits later after eating their weight in blackcurrants, redcurrants gooseberries and raspberries straight from the bushes. 😂 but we bought this lot home and spied others that will be ready soon. Its hard work having an allotment but its so exciting at this time of year!

Celery was never high on my priority list of things to grow in the garden. I thought it would take up too much growing space, needs lots of care and besides we didn’t eat that much of it anyway. Then I planted some seedlings a couple of years ago and since then have learnt this crop is an absolute must-grow in the winter garden. Home-garden celery if grown correctly (lots of water, rich soil) tastes incredible and is one of the most valuable kitchen staples for cooking and snacking on. It’s pretty fuss-free and being a cut-as-needed plant crops in abundance for months. Do you grow celery?
