Everyone wants to be successful but its important to make sure you think long and hard about what you want that success to look like. It would be terrible to look back on life and realize that you became successful at the wrong thing. -

Thank you to The Ironman Foundation for sending some goodies including ‘Finding My Voice’ Mike Reilly’s look back on his many years as the indefatigable voice of Ironman and the man who all Ironman athletes want to hear say: ‘YOU ..ARE ..AN IRONMAN!!!’
He is the captain of our Ironman foundation team.
He misses sometimes and has trouble with complicated names at times but he does his best in giving every Ironman athlete the respect they deserve as finishers knowing how hard they worked to get to that point.
Unless you are the very 1st finisher in the Hawaii Ironman you most likely can hear him call out finishers way before you get to the finish line ,and last October I was making my way to Ali’I Drive with Mike’s voice echoing in the background with music blaring and the energetic fans Uber excited and doing their best to help carry all finishers through the finish line ,the atmosphere sounded electric to say the least ,when a PC athlete in a wheel chair zoomed down the last little hill loudly singing to himself :’
YOU ...ARE ..AN IRONMAN !’ YOU ...ARE ..AN IRONMAN !’ YOU ...ARE ..AN IRONMAN !’ YOU ...ARE ..AN IRONMAN !’ That helped out a giant smile on my face despite the fatigue.
Ella es esa amiga que nunca pensé que pudiera llegar a tener y conocer. ❤️ Quizá no he sabido llevar esta amistad pero espero tengamos muchos años más para seguir creciendo juntas.
