We have a great lesson today in my seminary class together with my seminarian students.
And we discuss and ponder about this questions!
If we knew that we would meet the Savior tomorrow ,what would we change today ?
Such a great opportunity to. Think ponder to ourselves and to ask ourselves what preparation we make for our Savior Jesus Christ second coming!
Clasped in agony
As He lay pleading, bleeding in the garden
While just moments away
Other hands betray Him
Out of greed, shameful greed
And then His hands are trembling
Straining to carry the beam that they've been nailed to
As He stumbles through the streets
Heading for the hill
On which He'd die, He would die
They take His hands
His mighty hands
Those gentle hands
And then they'd pierce them,
then they'd pierce them,
He lets them because of love
From birth to death was selflessness
And clearly now I see Him with His hands calling to me
And though I'm not yet as I would be
He had shown me how I could be
I will make my hands like those from Galilee”
I had a great morning fun run through the farm with the little lady. Life is abundant! God is good! Every morning we should exercise our minds, bodies and souls. With your mind seek God and his Word first. With your body condition it to do His work. With your soul prepare it for battle and seek the lost and teach them to fight. Have a blessed day!
We could all use more hope... I know that I could, even on the best of days. I’ve often been asked why I share scriptures from the Book of Mormon, and after giving it some thought, my answer is simple; it gives me hope. I believe in the Bible and know it to be the word of God, but I also know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know it because I’ve prayed and pondered it’s messages, and have drawn closer to God because of it. As I turn through it’s pages, I feel hope, love and a desire to become a better person. My perspective of myself changes, and so does my optimism for the future. In contrast, the Bible has allowed me to walk in the Savior’s footsteps and better understand His role as our Savior and His enteral plan for us. Both books help us draw closer to Him, and ultimately feel of His love for us, His children. I know that we are sons and daughters of the most High God, whose desire is to bring us back to Him so that we can be happy in His presence. I believe in this message of hope, and know it to be true. I know that good days are to come, and that an even brighter future is on the horizon. Don’t give up the fight, not just yet. The ship hasn’t sailed quite yet... there still is time. God loves you and He will bless you because you are His precious Son or Daughter.
One of the most spectacular sunsets 🌅 I ever witnessed was last mo at home in Louisiana in an open field at Gray Ranch near the place where I grew up. I captured this beautiful shot of my daughter with God’s painting behind her! 🙏🏽 As a sweet daughter 💕 trying to find her way in this big world— the words of the great Les Brown come to mind... 🤔 “No matter what you're facing, believe this ~ You have MORE in you...more energy, more power, more spirit, more courage and more determination...to make life what you want it to be. Continue to put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward, despite the obstacles you face. Work through it. You can do this! YOU REALLY CAN! ❤️ You have something special...you have GREATNESS within you! ⭐️ #flyhighlittleone

Experience has taught me a lesson that makes me think of these words in a different way. I used to think, if we are judging someone...in that moment can we actually feel love? Perhaps, we can. But when we think we are coming from a place of love in judging someone, what if we are wrong? Instead of feeling loved, the misjudged feel alienated and without a voice. In a world where our capacity to see and comprehend all is limited, the misjudged become trapped in what cannot be known—but only they can see. This makes walking in their shoes all the more lonelier and harder in the middle of suffering. Matthew 7:1-2 (Photo:@kochphil)
•🍃Simplicidade... “Deus está em todos os lugares. Não precisa ser algo complicado ou de difícil acesso. Deus está nas coisas mais simples da vida. Observe ao seu redor e veja como ele está em tudo!” ✝️💕 #godisgood#thanksgod#simplicity#helives#godislove
Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I boldly come before your throne of grace to intercede for my children , nieces & nephews and all children in all the nations as they go to Elementary, Middle School and High School today.
Lord I commit my children into your loving and safe arms and I pray for your perfect will over their life. Draw out of them every seed you planted in their soul before time began (1 Corinthians 3:7). Mold them into everything you designed them to be. Lead them clearly, Father, into your plans and purposes and reveal them to both of us according to Amos 3:7. I ask you to protect them, to put a guard around their heart, and help them to hear your voice clearly and obey Your Word. I send them to school today with the protection of your holy blood in Jesus name Amen ✝️💋🙌🙏😊 HAPPY MONDAY MOTIVATION 🥰 #helives# 🙌
I think in life we all have that 1 trial, that 1 trial that determines if we turn away from the Lord or turn to him. I would hope that most of us would not get caught up in the worldly pleasures and turn to the Lord in our times of need. He does not, and will not, abandon us. If I have learned anything in my life it is that... "He will not always take your afflictions from you, but comfort you and lead you with love through whatever storm you may face" (Thomas S. Monson) I bear my testimony of a savior who wants us to come unto him in our darkest (and lightest) hours. He wants us to turn to him for love and comfort and he is more than willing to give it. I pray that when we all face our biggest trial we may not forget Jesus Christ but turn to him. He LOVES us. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. #helives
If I am ever asked, “How do you know God is real?” She is one of my answers. A woman who didn’t have to do it...but she did above & beyond and continues to do so. She has shown me family isn’t defined by DNA, but by actions. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the woman I thank God for. Y’all help me wish my mom a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!❤️🎉
I can't begin to tell you how amazing God is. Where i came from to where im going is truly incredible! Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice so that i may be forgiven for my sins. I know God loves me. I used to ask God for an opportunity to be great. And now im a living testimony. Went from a cell, no job, with a baby on the way and no clue what to do... to 7 kids, the most beautiful wife, a career, 2 cars and a pretty decent home to live in. Thank you God! #helives#amazing#thankful#god
Have you ever been misjudged by people who are well-meaning? I have watched this unfold in the lives of some who are close to me. (Both a friend and some family members.) I have seen the alienation they have felt in the midst of intense physical suffering. When they needed compassion and the fruit that comes from feelings of the heart, they were met instead with the cold heart of judgment. In the space of the past month, a way has opened that is freeing for both my friend and family members from different forms of misplaced judgment. I am happy for them. And sad for all the pain they had to endure unnecessarily. I can see why the Lord would give the commandment to “Judge Not.” It was actually easy to misjudge them, without the addition of new information.
“None of us is perfect. I know of no one who would profess to be so. And yet for some reason, despite our own imperfections, we have a tendency to point out those of others. We make judgments concerning their actions or inactions. There is really no way we can know the heart, the intentions, or the circumstances of someone who might say or do something we find reason to criticize. Thus the commandment: “Judge not.” ~Thomas S. Monson, Matthew 7:1 (Photo:@kochphil)
I LOVE my scriptures!!! There are times life gets hectic and crazy and you just...sometimes you wanna be away from everyone. You don’t want to deal with anyone’s crap for a while. But you don’t exactly want to be alone either. Get those days? I had one today. Not for any particular reason, I just got stressed and didn’t want to deal with anyone, but I didn’t want to seclude myself either. I had the feeling though, while I was trying to figure out what to do, “try spending some time with God”. So I pulled out my scriptures and started looking up verses about peace and trying to build my own list of scriptures that can help bring peace. The joy that I find when I experience new things in the scriptures, when I make new connections and understand new things, can’t be beat. I love the Lord, I love His Holy Word, and I’m not ashamed to say it before the world. #godsnotdead#helives#ibelieve
While saying our prayers after a long day of travel, I felt the need to pray for someone. The words, “please us understand that we don’t need to be perfect to receive Thy grace” (strengthening and enabling power) came to mind. I don’t believe the Lord expects that (to be perfect) of us, at least not yet. Undoubtedly, there will be times when we fall short and feel as though we aren’t worthy to receive His love in our lives, but as a wise mission president once told me, “it’s the striving that counts.” There isn’t an account of grace that we are building up in Heaven, and once we are ready to use it, we withdrawal what we have. I used to think that grace was something we received after doing everything we could, but while taking these images, I saw that His grace was with us every step of the way. I know that God loves us and He wants us to bless us. We don’t have to wait to receive His grace (strengthening and enabling power)... because He is with us every step of the way. If you trust in Him and in His timing, you will see His influence in your life, and it will change you. His love will change... for it has certainly changed me.
A few years ago a friend of mine showed me this painting of Christ and I had to get it because I loved it! I loved that it is more of a blurred face without distinct characteristics because our relationship with Christ is different for each one of us. All of our journeys in life are so different but regardless he meets each one of us where we are with open arms. He is always there to lift us and help as even when we have nothing to give in return. I am so grateful for the sacrifice he paid for each one of us and I know we are all enough we just have to let him in. #helives
Don’t give up. •
I have tried growing sunflowers from seed several times and have failed. •
This year brought success. •
Often people say “Rachel you have such a green thumb. I kill everything.”
I then, if they let me tell my backstory. As freshman in high school I tried to grow plants in my room under my bed and failed. In college a tried to grow a watermelon garden in the shade🤪. It failed. After I graduated college I started to grow a mango seed it grew to about 6 inches. It suffered from major fruit flies. Then I left on mission it died. I failed. I could keep going on all my failed attempts of growing things. Some are so funny to look back on now because I now see the GREAT lack of knowledge and experience I had. I killed a lot of plants. I failed a lot. And guess what I still fail. •
So yes I have a green thumb but I have brown fingers. •
I am not afraid of failing because with each failure I learn more. And now look at the lovely flowers I get to look at. If I had stoped the first time I tried I would have missed this. •
God excepts our failings for he sees them as opportunities to grow. He does not expect them as a reason to stop.
Living the gospel brings me hope because I noticed a change in my life when I follow the commandments. I am a happier person with optimistic views because I have felt His love when I repent. Jesus Christ has asked for us to come and follow Him and when I follow I have a hope that all will workout for it's best. I wanted to become a Doctor of medicine, but I didn't feel like it was right because I would be away from my family more than I would like. If I didn't have the gospel I wouldn't care about being around them. Even though I'm not going to be a doctor life is turning out better than I imagined.
