The stars were out in force for televisions biggest night.
The big winner at the Emmy Awards was HBO, which took home 9 awards during the telecast. This secured its status as the network with the most wins, despite steep competition from Netflix.
HBO’s success was helmed by wins from the last season of its juggernaut hit Game of Thrones, and its limited series Chernobyl.
An upset came during the Best Limited Series category, when favorite “When you See Us” lost to HBO’s Chernobyl. However, the series did nab a win for its leading man, Jharrel Jerome, in the leading actor category.
Without a formal host, some of the nights most memorable moments came from passionate speeches provided by the winners, including Michelle Williams, Billy Porter, and Patricia Arquette.
The show also saw cameos from Fox Networks hit shows The Simpson’s and Family Guy, and an “impromptu” monologue provided by Bryan Cranston.
Billy Porter became the first openly gay African American to win Best Actor in a Drama Series.
In another shocking upset, Emmy favorite Veep was shutout and did not take home any awards last night.
With the new trailer, Walter White was officially confirmed dead. Police said there were 9 dead at the scene.
