3/3 | And yet. We become attached in spite of ourselves. Our possessions serve us—they bring comfort, familiarity, joy, pleasure, safety, and the like. They also burden us—with guilt, obligation. They serve as a marker of how far we’ve come; they remind us of how far we’ve yet to go.
The timing for that kind of self-reflection (*cough* navel-gazing) is hardly ever ideal. It’s never convenient to ask yourself if you’re satisfied with how your life is shaping up, or to interrogate your possessions for the narrative they might reveal about you.
But with this move, as I slowly unpacked each box and assigned each item its proper place, I tried to ask myself those very questions. I attempted to listen to the story my stuff was telling me about myself, and to accept whatever that might be.
I finally have a new blog post up after a long time of not posting and I’m so excited to share this one with y’all! 💕 I partnered with @wayfair to do a refresh on my Master Bedroom and did it all for less than $300!! 🙌🏻 It completely changed the look of my room and I’m so happy with how it turned out!! 💕 Here is a sneak peek photo, but head to the link in my bio to check out the full before and after!! ✨

I’ve fooled you for far too long... we’re really a bunch of hillbillies 😂.
Y’all we BROKE GROUND this week on our new home!!!!! Our backyard is now an enormous dirt hill with tractors and dump trucks and we are all just so so excited about it. Zeke likes the tractors, Ruby likes the guys on the job site and I like seeing my man do his thing building our family home. 🥰 This is what 8 years of patience and hard work look like. Keep dreaming those dreams you guys cause they’re not as far out of reach as you think. Also can you spot the funniest photo merger? I LOL every time I look at this photo... here’s a hint: Go Go Gadget Arms! 😂 #thepowersplace#newbuild#thehousethatbuiltus
When painting metal surfaces, it’s important to prime and use DTM.
DTM is Direct To Metal Paint, while applying primer and paint I find using Foam Rollers are the best in application. No streaks just a smooth finish ☺️✨🎨🏁
