  • A lot of beginnings feel like the start of a run.
.
You’re cold, it hurts, you’re out of breath, you’re not sure which way you should turn, your legs start to chafe, you wonder if should do the hill now or later, and you’re questioning why you’re even running if nothing is chasing you.
.
We felt like that when we started our trip in March in the @airstream_inc. We were holding our breath driving down mountain roads, our Airstream arrived with a dent on the side, I couldn’t figure out how to use the oven and we’d wake up freezing.
.
But I heard a quote once that said, “a run begins the moment you forget you’re running.”
.
Because eventually you do reach that point where the pain dissolves and you stop thinking about one foot in front of the other and your body just remembers anyway. And you’re already drenched in sweat so what’s a little more sweat going to hurt?
.
That’s the same evolution we take when we begin something hard or new. We’re hyper-aware of our decisions and every pain point. We wonder if we made the right choice. And each new bead of sweat is intensely noticeable because it wasn’t there before.
.
But then, you forget you’re running, and you will too. Your run becomes a part of you and what was once strides, will start to feel like steps. A lot of beginnings feel like the start of a run. .
