Grass alone makes humans all around the world spend billions of dollars a year on making sure it doesn’t win. Yet, we still love it. And whether or not we tend to it - grass grows. Grass is seen. Grass is felt. It’s unstoppable. And we keep investing in it. And the grass still wins. It’s unstoppable because of its draw to the eye and need from the consumer.
Be like grass.
I was trying to capture an image of the grazing deer that gather here every evening. Instead, I captured a rare glimpse of the powerful urban forest. A gateway to a new world of old; a different city. Behind me was a raging highway. Miles past this image was a buzzing city. Neighborhoods border the left and right. Still though, through all of that, this remains. Adulterated by man time and time again but pure in its innocence. This glimpse of wilderness has done nothing to us but soon it to will expire. Just like all of this beautiful world. Acre by acre. Goodnight beautiful creation.
Spring is in the air. The leaves are at their finest and the creatures are abundant. I stumbled upon this beautiful scene while looking for a special #woodstork I have befriended over the years. He likes to sit just at the mouth of this creek in a marshy plain. I didn’t see him on this particular day. This worries me but there are still plenty of days left to reconnect.
