  • Spent a short while this afternoon at my favorite bookstore @thetwigbookshop for an author event featuring @katherinecenter launching her newest book, Things You Save In A Fire. It’s always nice hearing about a story from the author’s perspective. Unfortunately no pictures or author signatures because Savannah could only handle 30mins of the 2hr event, which honestly I considered a win! Plus, I got a new book on my to-be-read list I’m looking forward to (that’s self discipline y’all, when I walk into a bookstore I immediately feel like I need them all!) Also, I met a couple of local bookstagrammers!! Check them out—> @speakingof_books @coldbrewbookreviews .

It’s so fun meeting people you follow on IG in real life and ultimately I love finding book lovers alike. There’s a special bond between people who understand the power of reading. I don’t know how to explain it. I just know more people should do it, read more, read everyday, read all the books. Maybe it’s because of that magical space @katherinecenter described that especially fiction creates where “you know it’s not true but you believe it anyway”. Like living in this scary world but believing in a better future anyway. Having “crazy” goals but believing in yourself anyway. Being fearful of a challenge but taking it head on anyway. There’s so many ways these incredible stories can be applied to lessons in life.
