❄️Winter Season❄️ For many, this season is associated with happy holiday vibes but for others, the weather change and shorter days signal a downturn in mood and energy that leaves them feeling sad, lethargic, and fatigued. If you find yourself feeling a bit more sluggish than usual during winter, don't try to push through––instead, go with it as much as you can. Our bodies evolved to take things a little slower in winter: as the nights get longer and the days get shorter, your metabolism takes things down a notch, your energy levels drop, and you might need a little more sleep. So, go easy on yourself but still do what you can to listen to your body’s needs over the next couple of months. Consider spending a little extra time journaling, start or increase your meditation practice, or try going to bed an hour earlier. You might be surprised at just how naturally you slip into a more seasonal rhythm.

HÔI ANNIE — As the new year approaches, I’ve made it my goal to finish posting about my Eat, Play, Love journey. I got 6 posts to do, so without further ado, I present to you... the magical town of Hôi An. Located about an hour away from Da Nang in Vietnam, it’s known for it’s well preserved Ancient Town and sought after textile industry. Looking to get a custom wardrobe from head to toe? This is where folks go to get it made.
When my time in the Philippines was coming to an end, I was trying to figure out my next move. I loved Vietnam so much from the years prior, so I researched other places in the country to check out. Hôi An popped up as a nomad destination because of its small town vibe mixed with western amenities and local attractions. Also, it was close to the beach! The main center is a bit touristy, so I chose to stay in the quieter part but still close enough to walk into town.
Hôi An gave the peacefulness I was seeking while also connecting me with expats on a similar self-discovery journey. It was a grounding experience to meet some really beautiful and welcoming souls. Especially after being solo for most of my trip. I even got to reunite with some MaryJane while I was there.🌿 Good times and wonderful memories that I’ll cherish forever. Thank you @mannydcguate and @elianamreyes for sharing your time, space, and energy with me. I def. look forward to reconnecting IRL somewhere and somehow in the future.
I didn’t do so much of the tourist destinations because I really wanted to regroup and recollect myself before I headed back to the states. I mostly stayed in town, went to the local gym, and worked out of cafes and restaurants. My fav. was @sixonsixcafe. It’s smaller than the one in Da Nang but the juices and sammiches were yummy. Plus the resident pug was so damn cute.
There’s more magical things that happened in this beautiful town, but some things are better left unsaid. So I’ll leave it at that. If you’ve been wanting to visit Hôi An or never heard of it, I definitely suggest adding it to your travel list. It’s worth it.

This time of the year can be mentally tough. There’s tons of social engagements, holidays, and then there’s that weird in-between time when you have to try to stay motivated at work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you ever wake up spinning out with negativity or anxiety? We’ve ALL experienced this at some point - holidays or not. It’s such an overwhelming way to start the day, so I always recommend getting down to the root fear beneath all of those thoughts before you continue on with your morning. This year has taught me how precious time is, and to cherish every moment we have. I no longer have the energy or breathe to deal with the drama or hurt caused by others! Instead I pray for them, set healthy distance/boundaries and move on in a way they can’t interrupt my inner peace #perspective#whatmattersmost#innerpeace#notime
Sometimes finding peace within can feel like the ultimate struggle. And then all of a sudden it will just fall into place.
You don’t need to harbour ill feelings. You don’t need to hold on to toxic relationships. You don’t need to be everything to everyone.
You are enough and you matter.
