  • This @drekkerbrewing is hitting the spot right now. Cool, crisp, and a little sweeter than most (if not all) of the other installments in the series, this Mango/Guava OG Brain Squeeze might be the most refreshing of the bunch. Though the rainforest climate in my apartment could be factoring in to this sentiment.
Seriously, though! The mango in this beer is unreal, and not just taste-wise. The mouthfeel is straight chalky mango flesh without any of the stringy tissue to get caught up in your teeth. Go get some, and beat this heat!
(Pro tip: Liquor Barrel on W. 7th still had four packs at closing tonight) This @drekkerbrewing is hitting the spot right now. Who doesn’t like a good milk stout? The style is British in origin, sometimes it’s referred to as Cream Stout or Sweet Stout. The idea for this beer showed up around 1875, and became popular by 1930. A key ingredient in milk stouts is lactose, an unfermentable sugar that is a byproduct of cheese making, among other things. Brewers initially marketed these stouts as nutritional and healthy options containing the benefits of 10oz of dairy millk before they fell out of fashion and were revived by American craft brewers. Let me introduce you to Leduc’s Rural Routes Holstein Milk Stout. This is, in my humble estimation, a solid example of the style. Deep inky black in the glass with a chestnut highlight. Thin brown bubbles on top don’t last long and leave no lacing. Aroma has toffee, chocolate and roasted barley, sweet but robust. Taste is also sweet at first from the lactose, notes of caramel and chocolate further propel the sweetness against the tang of deep roasted barley. The body is full and creamy and the beer has a soft carbonation. Lactose is a wonderful thing is a stout, sweetness and richness coexist blissfully in this style. 5.5% ABV, 22 IBU. • @bairdsmalt standard Pale Ale malt will go perfectly as a base malt in your winter Stouts or Porters but can also give a lot of malty backbone to your Lagers or Pale Ales! Head to our website (link in bio) or get in touch if you want to find out more!

  • “Seriously leading us into temptation”
@badshepherdbrewey Jaffa Milkshake IPA. A collaboration with Grounded Pleasures purveyors of hot chocolate. The result sees creamy orange set amongst bitter dark chocolate on the nose before serving up just as much malt-driven creaminess on the palate.
A soft Choc Orange Milkshake for grown ups. Yum Yum. “Seriously leading us into temptation” @badshepherdbrewey Jaffa Milkshake IPA. A collaboration with Grounded Pleasures purveyors of hot chocolate. • #ThrowbackThursday to one of our last stops in Chicago. @offcolorbrewing has been on my bucket list of breweries for years and I was so excited to finally check them off. The taproom had a chill environment to it which I felt was very welcoming. They unfortunately did not offer flights, so we chose four off their list. April Rain was a Wild Ale brewed with the citrus fruit sudachi that imparted a bittersweetness. Fierce was an excellent rendition of a non-adjuncted Berliner Weisse. Reine des Reinards was a Belgian Strong Ale/cider hybrid which was sweet and complex. Finally, Dino S'mores was s'more Stout with no dinosaurs harmed in the making. This is another place I reccomend and maybe y'all can ask the staff what is up with giraffe because I forgot to do so. 🍻 #throwbackthursday to one of our last stops in Chicago. @offcolorbrewing has been on my bucket list of breweries for years and I was so excited to finally check them off.
