  • happy #selfcaresunday my dudes! it’s been exactly a week since i shaved my face; i’d say dermaplaning, but i know estheticians will come for my neck. can’t use such a professional term loosely! 😅

but yeah, it’s a total coincidence that i decided to talk about this today when it marks the first week since i shaved my face. i’ve been so scared of doing it cause i thought my hair would grow back thicker but after finding out it doesn’t (as proven by how my mustache grows back after i shave it), i finally decided to go for it. i really wouldn’t go back lmao it’s one of the best skincare risks i took cause my skin is SMOOTH as hell, applying products and the way they sit on the skin just feels so much better, and don’t even get me started on how my makeup looks. not to be dramatic but this changed my life 😩

i do it by sections so like little by little – KINDA (i try my BEST) like the technique used in dermaplaning videos. so i apply serum on the area i’m focusing on cause i don’t wanna shave a dry face. that’s not how professionals do it cause ofc the tools and everything are different but i just like doing it on a hydrated face so the razor glides smoothly. that probably won’t be the case if you use a scalpel cause that’s super sharp and overall so different sORRY FOR ALL THE DISCLAIMERS I JUST KNOW I’LL TRIGGER A LOT OF ANGRY ESTIES PLS DON’T HATE ME I WANNA BE U SOMEDAY BUT RN I JUST CAN’T AFFORD THIS PROCEDURE!! 😭 happy #selfcaresunday my dudes! it’s been exactly a week since i shaved my face; i’d say dermaplaning, but i know estheticians will come for my neck. can’t use such a professional term loosely! 😅 but yeah, it’s a total coincidence that i decided to talk about this today when it marks the first week since i shaved my face. i’ve been so scared of doing it cause i thought my hair would grow back thicker but after finding out it doesn’t (as proven by how my mustache grows back after i shave it), i finally decided to go for it. i really wouldn’t go back lmao it’s one of the best skincare risks i took cause my skin is SMOOTH as hell, applying products and the way they sit on the skin just feels so much better, and don’t even get me started on how my makeup looks. not to be dramatic but this changed my life 😩 i do it by sections so like little by little – KINDA (i try my BEST) like the technique used in dermaplaning videos. so i apply serum on the area i’m focusing on cause i don’t wanna shave a dry face. that’s not how professionals do it cause ofc the tools and everything are different but i just like doing it on a hydrated face so the razor glides smoothly. that probably won’t be the case if you use a scalpel cause that’s super sharp and overall so different sORRY FOR ALL THE DISCLAIMERS I JUST KNOW I’LL TRIGGER A LOT OF ANGRY ESTIES PLS DON’T HATE ME I WANNA BE U SOMEDAY BUT RN I JUST CAN’T AFFORD THIS PROCEDURE!! 😭

  • #SephoraHaul Sunday 🖤⁣
Here were my final [𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚘𝚖] @sephora purchases from the sale!⁣
⁣
🌙 The @youthtothepeople Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser - I posted a love letter about this last week. This cleanser is amazing, doesn’t strip the skin, and helps keep my skin bright and clear!⁣
🌙 I have never owned a @patmcgrathreal product, but was so intrigued by these lippies. I ordered the Lip Fetish Lip Balm in Noir & the BlitzTrance Lipstick in Cyber Orchid. The Cyber Orchid was already on sale for $20 + the 20% off, so I had to 💁‍♀️⁣
🌙 Finally, the @natashadenona Mini Lila Eyeshadow Palette, because I’ve been wanting to try Natasha Denona’s eyeshadows and this was already on sale for $12.50, so another steal. #sephorahaul Sunday 🖤⁣ Here were my final [𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚘𝚖] @sephora purchases from the sale!⁣ ⁣ 🌙 The @youthtothepeople Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser - I posted a love letter about this last week. • Beautiful ombré and a tagline that makes you want to slow down and breathe. I used to rush and @thenimetyou.
.
• The Living Cleansing balm features sea buckthorn oil, giving this first cleanser it’s gorgeous yellow color. Rich in fatty acids and vitamin C, this nourishing balm melts down like butter, gently removing makeup and sunscreen. I don’t wear much in the way of makeup normally so this works well for me, though I have heard others say they find traces of mascara and eyeliner left behind. I do wish this emulsified a bit more, but it does still wash of cleanly. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this, and find myself wanting to reach for it every night.
• The Soothing Tea cleansing gel is the second part of the cleansing duo, a light gel cleanser meant to remove the last traces of the day. With green tea, rice ferment filtrate, and Centella, this cleanser is gentle and pleasant to use. The ph sits around a 6, making it ideal for those who look for a non-stripping cleanser.
• So far the Giving Essence is my favorite of the set. This lovely pink essence hydrates, protects, and brightens. With black chokeberry, galactomyces, and Polyglutamic acid (which holds 4x more moisture then Hyaluronic acid) this is the perfect first step after cleansing. I’ll have more thoughts the longer I use it, but so far it’s really nice. Plus VERY pretty.
• Birch Milk Refining toner is the first chemical exfoliator I’ve tested since giving up tretinoin. I’ve been using it for around two weeks, every other evening, and OMG has it made a difference. This has noticeably cleared up some stubborn blackheads and bumps I’ve had on my face forever. My skin tone is more even, softer, smoother, and noticeably brighter. Im completely blown away.
Key ingredients are lactic and glycolic acids in a 1% total, and these are softened by the addition of birch juice, sqaualane, and marshmallow root to reduce inflammation and irritation. I wasn’t expecting to feel this way about this toner, but it’s definitely love.
.
Have you had the chance to try TIMY? If you have what are your thoughts?

  • Okay, I tried Paula's Choice AHA 8% Gel, let's talk about it.

I am grateful to @suleikhasnyder for giving me this sample - which I think is actually the travel size, it's lasted ages. I'm always vaguely considering switching from a biweekly AHA peel to a daily treatment, and Paula's Choice is my default go-to for acid products because they're gold standard for acids.

But I just can't get behind this product, and it's all down to the texture. This same thing comes in a lotion form from them, and I bet I'd like it more. But the gel is just...ugh. You have to wait for it to dry down, which takes a while. (I hate waiting, I like to apply and get on with my life.) And then, no matter what I did it left this tacky feeling to my face. Very often it would pill when I put something else (serum or moisturizer) over it, which just FYI, I find pilling absolutely and irrationally INFURIATING. So every time I used it, I either had this light gummy feeling on my skin for hours, or I had pilling and rage.

So yeah, that's no from me. But it did go a VERY long way, I felt like I'd been using it foreverrrrrrrrr - it lasted at least a month of daily use, and there's still some left. I've decided to use it on my feet, because I am a re-purpose queen who likes soft heels.

  • If you’ve known me for any amount of time, you know that I love everything to the max! My hair, lashes, tan, and attitude are all dramatic. So when @planettanofficial asked me what my favorite thing about sunless or sun-bed tanning is, I don’t have a direct answer other than: ALL OF IT 😂 I love how my skin always looks and feel great, how my confidence is always best when my tan is on point, how the beds give me time to chill, how sprays are quick and give me the pop of color to rock any outfit and overall how it completes any look!
Planet tan is seriously the best of the best & im always going to support body positivity. So if it makes you feel good (and isn’t harming others obvs) do it. And in this case, it’s always a great tan from PLT! If you’ve known me for any amount of time, you know that I love everything to the max! My hair, lashes, tan, and attitude are all dramatic. • It’s a Vitamin C #shelfiesunday with a few new gems I’m adoring. I’ve had my eye on @alliesofskin for over a year and am finally trying out their vitamin C which has one of the most impressive formulas I’ve seen on the market. With 25% L-ascorbic acid and 10% Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate ( holy cow what a mouthful) an oil stable formula that penetrates deeper into the skin, this is a powerhouse product and I’ve already seen brightening results after a week of use. I’m now dying to try their retinol formula after loving this so much.
I also am loving the @urbanskinrx Even tone super glow serum. This one is an incredible product for the price, I love that it has added Kojic acid to fade dark spots and hope to try more from this brand after falling in love with this product!
