What’s the difference between joy and happiness? For me, joy is something that can bring you either instant or evolving happiness. That could be loud music, a hot coffee, writing, puppies, exercise or even your work! One of my joys, I’ve realised, is being by or in water. Here in Croatia the water is crystal blue, apparently one of the virtues of the Adriatic Sea. Because of its pebbles and lack of sand, it’s one of the clearest seas in the world. Joy for me is paddle-boarding, swimming in the sea or just sitting by the edge listening to the lapping waves. The good news is we can find simple and easy joys pretty much anywhere or anytime, not just on holiday (although admittedly, a sundowner at 6pm on the beach is mostly holiday territory!). The difficult bit is learning how to harness joy into our daily lives - many of us simply believe that we don’t deserve it or we should be working too hard to worry about daily joy. And then what happens is, we lose the art of looking for and experiencing joy and that becomes our mundanity, the life we choose for ourselves. We feel guilty embracing joy and judge ourselves for being ‘selfish’ enough to allow time to enjoy these moments. If this sounds kind of like your life right now, I have a tip for you: diarise either in your journal or on the iPhone a 15 minute slot everyday (with view of extending this once you realise a disaster won’t happen) and ensure you select one thing that will bring you joy each day. So whether that’s a phone call with an old friend, a walk in the woods, crazy head banging to old rock music or a long bath - get used to bringing more joy into your life and see the accumulative effects on your overall happiness. And remember there is no ‘joy judge’ - everyone’s joy is different but it does lead to the same impact for everyone - more positivity and happiness over time. Let me know if this strikes a chord with you and if you could bring more joy into your life? #positivepsychology#positivity#positivity#joy#happiness#braintraining#brainhealth#cognitivedissonance#mindset#positivethoughts#positivethoughts#mindsetreset#affirmations#coaching#lifecoach#wellbeingcoach#wellbeing#enjoylife
Hey friends! I have a new word posted on my blog today! “There's a religious spirit sent to dismantle the freedom My people are discovering in Jesus, a new level of freedom that is different from what people have been used to. Once stuck in a legalistic pattern, many are now discovering their TRUE FREEDOM and LIBERTY in ME, says the Lord. To many, this religious spirit is obvious, exposed and they refuse to go back into the bondage of the religious system. But to others who are more vulnerable and not yet discerning, the religious spirit is attempting to confuse and distort the wonderful freedom in Jesus, causing them to see it as wrong, unholy, impure. This religious spirit is perverting what freedom in Jesus looks like, either making it look dirty on one extreme, or causing people to abuse it on the other extreme...” #jesus#freedom#love#joy#youarecalled#youarefreeindeed#abundantlife
Time set aside for just us. It’s so damn important to fill your cup if you plan to pour into someone else’s. Anyone. Kids, sisters, husbands, girlfriends, cousins, co-workers ..the list goes on. You have to make INTENTIONAL time where you fill 👏🏻 your 👏🏻 cup 👏🏻. .
If you’re anything like me, you may not even know what that means! Like, I fill my cup at the fridge, with ice please. 🤪 I’ve been slowly learning what allows me to actually be full, so I can be a better wife, mom, sister, friend, daughter, auntie, etc.
One of the things, time set aside, uninterrupted and waaaaaay less irritating...outside of the house with my soul mate. It fills me up to not look at our mess, or our tiny humans, and to just be together peacefully enjoying one another’s company. .
What fills you up? Are you sure of anything that does yet? Are you looking to check-in so you can find it? I do want some more ideas to add to my list, so drop me a line and tell me what’s good ...besides ice water 😂

That deep driving force within you- that is your path. That “hobby” you wish you had time to pursue- that is your passion. That caring for others, bringing human touch and empathy, healing in some form - that is your passion. These things aren’t part of your Being just because. They are there as your purpose. It sometimes is time to realize why we are so passionate about these things or to watch them develop through phases, but they ARE there for you to follow. They carry a part of your energy that is meant to be shared. Let that light your way as you awaken to your true path and allow that energy to guide you as you share it with everyone.
This was a name I have heard on one of my dreams after I started surfing, dreaming being one underneath the ocean, somehow I felt like home I felt like I knew this was what I needed... Thalassa is the greek word for goddess of the seas, somehow it sounded great to me.
In between clouds of sadness and pain, I found my light and happiness on and unknown deep force of nature, the ocean.
It all started after I realised I need a reason to live, so I stepped on a flyer about surf lessons in Copenhagen and I was tempted, why not? Nothing that I was doing was bringing joy anyway.´
THREE YEARS 💕 | Three years of hysterical laughter, tacos, and deep debates about whether a movie is good or not. Three years of wiping each other’s tears, intense stress, intense pain. Three years of encouragement, joy, and unconditional love. My forever and always, the love of my life, my best friend. Thank you for giving me three life-packed years (not sure how it’s been so long yet gone so quickly 😱). I can’t wait to start forever with you.
🌱Which One Are You? 👇🏾👇🏾
A full glass belongs to a person so full of knowledge and self righteousness, they give themselves no room to learn more.. they can't be filled much further.
The empty glass represents a person who drinks what's inside of the glass. A teachable person who applies what is taught and comes to learn more.
A glass full person walks around happy, showing off that their glass is full but little do they know, that's the most full it'll ever be.
The person with the empty glass, isn't too concerned with what his glass looks like to others, they are continuously being filled, growing and learning. 🌱 . - word giving to my by the Lord👆🏾 I pray that the body of Christ grows in humility, that we are like the empty glass.. open to learning regardless of where God brings the lesson. I pray we die to self and we keep rising as a Kingdom.
Can you listen to something you know and not have to say I already know? Can you listen with fresh ears to an old statement? sometimes we throw in "God already told me that" in the midst, in the place of saying "i know this already". God humble our hearts. Sanctify us in your truth and love. I pray we give you glory in the way that you desire and deserve🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 - this checked me lol
An honour to be asked to sing and DJ for Sandra Lindfield funeral & wake. She and her lovely daughter Gemma Lindfield saw me play Wilderness festival and Sandra requested me for her next journey. Sandra wanted a celebration of her life, the correct way to do these things I believe.
A beautiful Greek word from the eulogy stuck with me
Meraklis – An individual possessing the ability to thoroughly enjoy; one drawn by aesthetically tasteful things or delicious food, or who goes about doing things with love and zeal.
Sandra embodied this word 💫
Our time here is precious, enjoy it 😊
Between stimulus and response there is space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
This space defines us to others and determines our present as well as future. .

Win or lose,
Your response is the true defining moment.
How you respond to failure and success is critical to positive growth.
There are lessons in each. There is very little difference between quitting after failing and not improving after success. In fact it takes just as much work to maintain success as it does to overcome failure.

Normal isn’t always right just as different isn’t always wrong
We are comfortable with normal because we are used to it, it is a known condition and we accept things that are normal even if it’s not ideal.
We are uncomfortable with different because it is unknown and it puts us on the defensive.
Are you satisfied with your NORMAL life?
Maybe it’s time to try something DIFFERENT
