We are grateful to Jimmy Moore for his efforts to spread the #ketogeniclifestyle and bring the #ketocommunity together. We met on Jimmy’s @lowcarbketocruise in May 2019 and realized we had a lot in common as two quirky and hormonal 50-something ladies. So we decided to create 2 Carnivore Ladies. *

We wanted to prove to ourselves and others that we could be 50 and sexy while only #eatingmeat. We bring you our journey together, including laughs, struggles, and the surprisingly psychological stuff, too. We show people you can grow daily no matter how old you are. *

Meet the 2 Carnivore Ladies: *

Carnivore B—After my doctor wanted to put me on #hormonereplacement therapy a couple of years ago to help with feeling depressed, exhausted, and hormonal, I started researching and came across the work of @MikhailaPeterson who fixed her health issues with a #carnivorediet.  This began my #ketojourney and it’s brought me to a place i’ve never been before. I’ve always been a bit of a rebel, so it ticked me off to realize I’d been lied to—but that only fueled my passion! Now I seek out people I trust who are the real deal and Jimmy is one of those. He motivated me and my husband to become a certified #ketocoach through @MariaEmmerich and now I host events and attend conferences to keep learning. *

Carnivore H—I’ve always dealt with #chronicallergies and #asthma making me feel unfit and unhealthy despite #exercise. I did everything the experts said I was supposed to do but I felt horrible and wasn’t seeing any changes. Then I found Jimmy Moore‘s podcast and was hooked. After binge listening, I started the #Paleodiet and then the #ketodiet. My asthma and allergies went away and I was able to come completely off of all medications. At 50, I feel like I am in the best shape of my life. *

How did I start keto?
#ketoweightloss from @lowcarbhighfat_nat

1. Started with Atkins to transition myself into a low carb life and wean myself off of carbs.~1 month with exercise.
2. Heard about keto- did an insane amount of research on it and decided that processed foods and sugar alcohols weren’t for me so I started removing those from my life slowly.
3. Did lazy keto for 7 months (no macro tracking, keep under 20g net carbs, clean eating).
4. In November I had been stalled for 3 months so I did a DietBet with molsinspire started macro tracking and intermittent fasting.
5. Gradually transitioned my #
fasting to OMAD (one meal a day by January/Feb).
6. Hit my goal weight in February of 160lb (I’m 5’9”)
7. Exercise 3-4 days per week the entire time.
8. Went off keto for every vacation (4 total) and went back to keto when I returned.
9. Did bulletproof coffee for like 2 weeks otherwise I drink black coffee.
10. Never chased ketone readings- always knew by how I felt if I was in ketosis or not (no appetite, focus, energy, brain fog gone, decreased bloat and inflammation).
11. Used Pinterest and google for all my keto recipes, never bought a cook book until a few months ago.
12. Supplement with vitamins the entire time.
13. Use goultima for electrolyte replacements.
14. Drink apple cider vinegar and aloe Vera whole leaf juice every night.
15. Realize that it is a life long decision to be healthy, it’s not an over night fix.

This took time, it took hard work, it took dedication. I wasn’t always motivated but I was determined.
