  • 🔊 SOUND ON

If you can't lift to a sad clown (shout out to the incredibly talented @puddlespityparty ) singing an alternative version of Abba's Dancing Queen are you really even trying?

For real though?

Music has a powerful impact on physical performance. The effect of heavy bass lines, guitar riffs, and fast beats can excite the nervous system just enough to get that extra edge. Everyone has that song they go to for extra motivation, or when they need to dig deep and grind.

Music can undoubtedly be a performance enhancer, but just like caffeine you can develop a tolerance to its performance enhancing effects. If Eye of the Tiger by Survivor is your jam, and you go back to it every single training session eventually it won't be quite the same.

So when was the last time you trained listening to music that was entirely unmotivating? How about in absolute silence?

When was the last time you got deep enough inside your own head to find the will to work hard without external motivation and excitement?

Try it sometime, because when you go back to those jock jams you grew up loving, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Pantera, or whatever it is that grabs you by the shoulders and shakes you it will be FAR more powerful.

Thank you @forwardfocusrvc for capturing this beautiful moment.

Thank you @prince_caspian123193 for bringing Jazzercise back. 🔊 SOUND ON If you can't lift to a sad clown (shout out to the incredibly talented @puddlespityparty ) singing an alternative version of Abba's Dancing Queen are you really even trying?
