This Sunday is London Car Free Day. (Shouldn’t that be every day 😉)
There’ll be loads of Play Streets throughout London and we’re having one on our street - Brenthouse Road E9 from 2-5pm. Bring kids, bikes, frisbees, booze, whatever you fancy to get a conversation going with the locals.
T A N G E R I N E skies. Last nights sunset colour inspiration was just wow.
The sun setting over the north Cornish coast gives us such an expanse of sky to enjoy an infinite variety of stunning prismatic colour. #lovewhereyoulive
Let's unwrap where we live from single-use plastic! ⠀
Come and join us on the 21st for this family-friendly impactful action!⠀
Times and locations:⠀
- 9:00-10:30 Sainsbury's⠀
- 16:30-18:00 Morrison's (all in Faversham)⠀
The Tesco Unwrap is now cancelled.⠀
The approach is simple: Meet outside the store, go inside and select your goods (the ones with lots of plastic packaging that you think you can do without), pay for them, then move away from the tills and remove the packaging. We then collect up this packaging and return it to the supermarket to recycle.⠀
We’re getting a second summer this week. I’m hoping that the sun rejuvenates me enough to carry on painting my studio. (I haven’t touched it in weeks) and I fully intend to enjoy every last ray of sunlight before we are thrust back into winter time.
We've just marked 3 months since our two new spuds appeared into the world. It's been both the longest and shortest 3 months of my life. There have been times when I've thought how much easier things would be if we didn't have two demanding babies to look after at once, on top of a lively nearly 3 year old. Then there have been times when I've thought what an incredible privilege it is to have been given such a special thing as twins. The learning curve has been steep, there's been real, scary darkness and total joy. A lifetime squashed into quarter of a year.
And yesterday, to celebrate getting through that insane fourth trimester, and thanks to some super childcare wonders, me and @goodeypix managed a couple of glorious hours to ourselves. We cycled along by the beach, ate sorbets looking out to sea and felt a lightness we haven't felt in months. Then I came home and looked at these tiny feet with fresh, grateful eyes. Jeez. All the emotions.
SCHOOL HOLIDAY SCAVENGER HUNT | These school holidays We Love Aintree volunteers are organising a local scavenger hunt around our neighbourhood. Photos of different objects around our neighbourhood will be on a Scavenger Hunt Sheet and kids and families are encouraged to go on a Park Crawl to find each thing. There are prizes to be won and heaps of fun to be had. See our website’s Notice Board for more, or the Facebook Event .
The fact that I have woken up in England on Hump Day is no coincidence!
It seems fitting that today will be a bit of an uphill struggle! 😂
We came home (after driving for 9 1/2 hours) to no electrics and a fridge that had basically melted onto the floor!
Also, yesterday the very heavy tailgate on our van refused to stay open! In order to empty it today, one of us is going to have to take it in turns to hold it up, a bit like Atlas, the Titan, holding up the world! Tom, tried it yesterday in Lidl carpark while I threw in 3 litre boxes of wine, amidst red faced cries of "hurry up...I'm going to drop it!" All my plants are dead and the post doesn't look friendly!
Anyone else hate coming home from holiday? 😂😂 On a happier note, it's a sunny day and Cody is happy to be peeing in his own back street again! And we're off to collect Max 🐈! .
History in the making 💛
I think it was 1994 the first time I visited the Sagrada Familia, and I’ve been back four or five (or maybe even six?!) times since. It never fails to blow me away! Every day we witness ways in which the human race are destroying the planet we live on, but here we have something so beautiful that some incredibly talented humans are actually making! Imagine what we could create if we all tended to the tiny bit of world around us with such love and care...
