| HEALING BENEFITS OF POTATOES | Potatoes are a nutritious, healthy food that are rich in vitamins A, C, & B-complex and minerals such as manganese, iron, magnesium, and potassium. Potatoes contain an antioxidant called quercetin which has anti-cancer and cardio-protective properties as well as a storage protein called patatin which has been shown to exhibit activity against disease causing free radicals.
_
Potatoes are an excellent source of B6, a vitamin which is essential for the formation of almost every new cell in the body. Vitamin B6 also is a vital component for the neurological system and for the creation of amines which are neurotransmitters that send messages from one nerve to the next.
_
This makes potatoes an important food for those who are heavy thinkers and those recovering from stress damage and adrenal exhaustion. They are also particularly beneficial for depression, insomnia, sleep disorders, brain fog, and stress related illnesses. Potatoes are also known to be good for promoting cardiovascular health and are highly beneficial for reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis, and COPD.
_
Potatoes themselves are virtually fat-free and packed with dietary fiber which helps to prevent constipation and protect the colon from polyps and cancer. Their high fiber content also helps to lower blood LDL cholesterol and keep blood sugar levels stable and within normal range.
_
Steamed potatoes are the most healthy form of cooked potato and will ensure that they retain most of their vitamins and minerals and remain a strongly alkaline, healing food. Potatoes can be readily found at your local grocery and health food stores.

"I started slowly detoxing with green juices that where inspired by @gersoninstitute The green juices mixed with apples slowly started to get my body working again, and really helped eliminate a lot of pathogens and inflammation from many areas of my body and my intestines. After about 3 months of doing mostly greens, and some apples, I got rid of a ton of parasites and worms and started to really feel alive again. At the time I was unable to digest citrus as it would give me super bad heart burn and acid reflux so I was mostly just sticking to the alkalinity of the greens and a little fruit sugar.
.
As I started to heal more and more, and continuing my education on detoxification with living foods, I started to be able to handle more fruit juices, and more fruits as well. I started transitioning out the veggies from my juices, and started to predominantly juice fruit. My healing seemed like it just sky rocketed, as well as the overall energy I had to get things done during the day. I started being able to tolerate oranges, and grapes, and the more I juiced, and the more I learned, the more it became evident that the quickest way to heal your body, and the quickest road back to a working immune system was with mostly fruit. I read the book The Grape Cure, Rational Fasting, The Mucusless Diet Healing System, and The Detox Miracle. All of these books really go to show that fruit is the cure for all of mans degenerative issues.
.
The human cell breaks everything down into glucose, which then converts that into energy. The closest thing to glucose is fruit sugar. The reason everyone gets diseased up is because they are eating such hard to digest foods, which results in your body digesting food, instead of spending the energy to break down the metabolic waste and toxins and build and repair tissue.
.
The less time you spend digesting food, the easier your body can break down and absorb vital nutrients, and spend time repairing the organs that have stopped working efficiently. A year and a half ago I was nearly bed ridden, and now I am fully living life again, working, traveling, and feeling really healthy and vibrant. Thank you fruit sugar!" ( 📸 @jeffjuices . . • RAW FALAFEL SOFT TACOS🌯🌮 (dehydrator free)!
-
Since our Excalibur dehydrator is still in New York (my mom will be shipping it to us eventually) we haven’t been able to create our raw wraps or fun dehydrated recipes!🍔🍕
-
Fortunately, @cocobynuco came to the rescue with their amazing, pliable yet durable, neutral flavored raw, vegan & organic coconut wraps🙌🏽 their turmeric coconut wraps are our favorite so far! They’re made with just 4 ingredients: coconut meat, coconut water, coconut oil & turmeric powder. They’re an amazing gluten free & raw bread alternative🥖 you can try finding them at your local Whole Foods or natural markets nearby! Or you can order them online😁
-
So who wants to try making these delicious raw vegan falafel balls?! They’re super easy to make and have such authentic flavors😋
-
🌟Raw falafel recipe (makes 12 balls)🌟:
•3/4th cup of soaked raw pecans or walnuts
•1/4th cup of soaked raw cashews
•make salsa for tacos and reserve about 1/4th cup for falafel ball mix (tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, lime, jalapeño & sea salt)
•2 medjool dates
•chunk of jalapeño
•small handful of cilantro
•1-2 cloves of garlic
•1/4th tsp of sea salt & pepper
•1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder & cumin
•blend in a vitamix, food processor or high speed blender and pulse for a good consistency
•roll into balls and enjoy😉 we’re sure these would be even BETTER if they were dehydrated for 4-5 hours on 110 degrees Fahrenheit👌🏽🌯 RAW FALAFEL SOFT TACOS🌯🌮 (dehydrator free)! - Since our Excalibur dehydrator is still in New York (my mom will be shipping it to us eventually) we haven’t been able to create our raw wraps or fun dehydrated recipes!🍔🍕 - Fortunately, @cocobynuco came to the rescue with their amazing, pliable yet durable, neutral flavored raw, vegan & organic coconut wraps🙌🏽 their turmeric coconut wraps are our favorite so far! • This year was the first time I fasted for Yom Kippur (and sang in Choir!). I couldn’t the years prior because of my health but now that I no longer have my health issues and on zero medications, I got to fast. This Jewish New Year has helped me to see how far I’ve come in my healing and how far my hubby’s come along in his healing, and just the gratitude and love for God, Angels, Spirit and #medicalmedium. Usually for the Jewish holy days, we reflect on the past year, forgiveness, and what we can improve on for the new year. Strangely, I didn’t have much to reflect on for the past year except feel gratitude and love. Usually, my go to was to beat myself over something and this year, I didn’t do that. All the yoga nidra practice has helped me to release those energies. As for forgiveness, that’s something I work on every month, especially asking forgiveness from myself. So much emphasis is placed on forgiving others but not much is placed on forgiving ourselves. Sometimes we treat ourselves with unimportance, unkindness, unworthiness, and we push ourselves beyond our limits for the sake of “perfection.” We make ourselves suffer a lot and for what? Asking ourselves for forgiveness and acknowledging how we have hurt ourselves intentionally or unintentionally and asking forgiveness for those actions is one of the biggest and most important part of the healing journey to incorporate positive changes. It truly helps to release and transmute that energy into a positive loving energy of kindness towards ourselves. This is how forgiveness is most healing and is one of the main keys to our healing. As for what to improve for the new year, I can always improve on being present and showing kindness towards myself, the people I love, and Mother Earth. When I fasted for 24 hours, my heart went to all those who go days without eating and drinking, who also suffer from chronic pain and their needs aren’t met. There is a lot to be grateful for and I choose to focus on gratitude, love and kind actions towards others and myself every day. L’Shana Tova! 🍎🍯 sending love and may we all heal 🙏💚 #inspiration #forgivenessheals #yomkippor #healingjourney #healing #eatpraylupus This year was the first time I fasted for Yom Kippur (and sang in Choir!). • Happiness is a big bowl of Zucchini Tater Tots!
💛☺️
I put the last of my garden’s zucchini to good use making one of my all-time favorite recipes! 😋
Check out the life-giving goodness contained in potatoes & zucchini, & this simple, scrumptious recipe from @medicalmedium:
💛🥔🥒
Potatoes are actually one of the most powerful anti-viral foods and are an excellent source of B6 which is a vital component for the neurological system and for the creation of amines which are neurotransmitters that send messages from one nerve to the next. This makes potatoes an important food for those who are heavy thinkers and those recovering from stress damage and adrenal exhaustion. They are also particularly beneficial for insomnia, sleep disorders, brain fog, and stress related illnesses.
Zucchini helps restore your liver and heal inflamed nerves caused by Epstein Barr Virus. They contain powerful anti-inflammatory compounds which can aid asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia. Zucchini is also known to be particularly beneficial for hypertension, diabetes, and edema. It also high in fiber and low in calories which makes it a great weight loss food and helps to reduce constipation and bloating.

Baked Zucchini Tater Tots

Ingredients:

2 medium-sized zucchinis
2 russet potatoes, peeled
1 tsp salt
1 tsp dried oregano
Ketchup, to serve (you can find a healthy ketchup recipe on the blog at http://www.medicalmedium.com/blog/sweet-potato-fries)

Directions:

Place a medium-sized pot on the heat with a steaming basket and add two inches of water. Place the potatoes in the pot, cover and cook until soft but so that there’s still some resistance, about 1 hour. Drain and let cool completely.
Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Grate the potato and place it in a bowl.

Grate the zucchini, place it in a clean dishtowel or nut milk bag and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Add it to the bowl with grated potato. Add the salt and dried oregano, then mix well and shape it to small cylinders.
Place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and bake for 20-30 minutes, flipping half way. Serve with ketchup and enjoy!

Serves: 40 tots

So this morning I woke up with a new thought in my head about #compassion and I had to share!! It goes like this... Compassion is knowing that another's perspective comes from their life experiences, choices, beliefs, and that they have sufficient reason to feel, act, and believe exactly as they do. If we really know this then we can't begin to need anyone else to change to better suit our needs or to give us the feeling we want to have. Compassion is truly knowing and trusting that whatever we choose to do or say to convince other people of the truth of our opinions/beliefs, that they are the captain of their results in life. Compassion is truly honoring another's person's right to choose and being open to hearing their why's for their choices, to hear what their story is. It's in hearing another's true perspective that we gain compassion. Curiousity and openness lead us to compassion. 💙 *Just changed my username😉 don't worry it's still Trish❤️ ⬇️⬇️⬇️ So this morning I woke up with a new thought in my head about #compassion and I had to share!! 💙
