One of the crazy things about Yellowstone is the buffalo traffic jams. It’s nothing like looking for bears where you are lucky to see them - I don’t think you can be on the west side of the park without seeing them!
One day we were about to head out of the park in the evening. A buffalo walked right in front of us! He then lead a whole heard onto the road. We were going through a mountain pass and the road was much better to walk on than the cliff sides, so the buffalo just slowly followed the road. So we were in a very slow parade following the buffalo. When we got to the other side, it opened into a meadow and we though the buffalo would get off the road. Nope - they kept going. We wanted to pass, but you need to give them some space(not only because it is their land, but because they are probably the size of our F350 dually and will charge). They eventually got off the road and we passed with the male grunting at us in a very menacing way. Will never forget that moment.
If you’ve been following me along on my stories, then you know I moved! Conveniently right next to the airport so I can torture myself everyday I go off to work! Instead of doing that, I like to bring travel to me... have any of you gone to a hostel you weren’t staying at? SO, I did this before in London when I stayed with my friend. She worked nights and also worked on NYE so I decided to go visit a hostel at the bar ( so I wasn’t just sneaking in) and I met some amazing people like @georgianoob at the Generator hostel bar. We were both solo traveling and we had so much fun hanging out! I made some other friends that I came back to hang out with for NYE. anyways, I’m thinking of trying this again but in Los Angeles! Yes, I live here now but I love loveeee meeting new people! I’m really into backpacking and the culture, but also I’m still a newbie to LA so I want friends or people who also are down to explore. So tip of the day: STAY at a hostel and if you can’t, visit one! Or my fave: work at one 😊 I also applied to work at one here on the side but the hours didn’t line up with my day job!
