Do you stretch out and cool down at the end of your workout? Stretching is so important, it helps get rid of all that lactic acid that has built up during your workout. Plus it relaxes you and your muscles. #dontforgettostretch#stretch
We are delighted to have funded a new Parent Reference Library on the RVI Neonatal Unit, featuring a range of books to help parents through their neonatal experience. We hope that these books will be very popular and that they go some way to helping parents gain a better understanding of prematurity and neonatal care. ❤️📚

- WORKIE TICKET -
Workie Ticket is a North East theatre group, established to “empower women through theatre” by delivering workshops and producing plays telling their stories.
Founder Jojo Kirtley finds that the project can conjure a whole variety of emotions, different each day. “It’s really rewarding. We find that a lot of the participants that we work with will tell us that they feel empowered after they’ve enjoyed the theatre workshops with us. They tend to really get involved and start to find a new passion and interest in theatre and usually they’re very appreciative of someone listening to them and telling their stories. It’s humbling but at times it can be gruelling and harrowing, depending on what people are wanting to share with you.”
Jojo believes that the work of her theatre company is more important now than ever before. “It’s hard being a woman in terms of what’s happening in the current climate, but also I think that’s one of the reasons why there’s a gap in the market for what we do in terms of working with women and telling their stories. Now is the time to speak out, and I think that’s what’s happening more and more.”
Thanks in part to funding from the Arts Council, Workie Ticket have been able to create employment opportunities in the North East, with diversity at the very heart of them as Co-Artistic Director Lindsey Nicholson explains: “We want to see more women in theatre, we want to see people of different ancestry and heritage, people no matter how they identify gender-wise or sexually. It needs to be a lot more diverse.” #madeinthenortheast#theatre#art#newcastle#northeast
