  • ANYTHING I AM HANDED TODAY I CAN HANDLE.

This ‘mantra for starting your shift’ from @yogahealthnurse has stuck with me!

Here’s a throwback 📸 to the @nineliveshealth Nurse Giveback Night last week! The yogi/nurses all got to meet in real life and it was aaaammmazing! Stay tuned for a highlight reel of my favorite @nurturingwarrior wisdom!

Seems fitting that I just came across my notes from the first @yogahealthnurse event I attended. Lindsay shared some really high quality content. I put my favorites below!

1. Be able to identify your stressors
2. If you don't deal with it, it will come back up.
3. Stress leads to compassion fatigue which leads to burn out.
4. Compassion saves lives.
5. Resiliency prevents burnout.
6. Go back to your nurse (or teacher/engineer/writer/artist) story, why you got in to this in the first place.
7. Do a body scan. Where do you physically feel the stress?
8. Self care is about creating a life you don't need to escape from.
9. Go to bed 15 minutes early to get up 15 minutes early to breath, ground yourself, set your intentions.
10. Put away a set amount of money each month for self-care, think of it as non-negotiable.

Private Yoga Detroit is hosting Lindsay on August 14th 6-8p! We have 5 spots left for the ‘Stress Less in Nursing’ yoga/nurse workshop. Let us know ASAP if you want to come. The last Detroit one sold out pretty quick!

This event is open to CNAs, RNs, NPs, CRNAs or anyone who works in health care and is concerned about burn out and compassion fatigue!
