I tried growing this Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' indoors last year hoping it wouldn’t go dormant in winter but it still did. It struggled to grow back in spring and didn’t manage to produce more than a tiny leaf or two. I therefore decided to move it outdoors and it’s so much happier. I suppose some plants are just meant to be outside. #onwednesdaysweplantpink
Meet my moss balls Bert and Ernie and their protector Stellaluna😻. Stellaluna sits and lays beside them all day long (probably because it's on the counter and the dogs can't get her 🙄). This has become her new favorite spot in the house and she does not take kindly to someone coming near her friends. 🙅♀️🌿🐈
Does your cat like your plants?
Ok I need your help here people 😂
I was planning on cutting my MV a while back but then decided to lengthen the pole instead cuz I was so happy with the looks if the new leaves. But now I'm back at being indecisive again. Yesterday I sphagwrapped the 3 top cuttings and the plan was to start a new plant with those big beautiful leaves at the base. As soon as I was done I resisted the urge to unwrap them right away. What would you do??
A. Leave it alone and let it grow 2-3 more leaves before cutting it with the risk of them getting smaller with a little less white cuz the light don't reach that high up.
B. Cut it in 3 weeks when it has gotten some roots in the bag and also take 3-6 cuttings for trade. Get a fresh start for a crazy good looking plant. BUT then be faced with the issue of small/medium sized leaves from comming new growth at th middle/top of the mama plant.
I can't make up my mind here 😫
And for those of you wondering about my sphagwraps and how I take cuttings from most of my plants with 100% success so far and much faster than any other propagation method I've tried, I'll be posting it in my stories later today 💚
I used sphagnum moss to root (still trying!) my Dischidia oiantha ‘Variegata’ cutting and had some leftover so I thought I’d make a simple moss terrarium. I love vintage glassware especially scientific glassware just like this (must be the chemist 👩🔬 in me!). This lives on my kitchen windowsill and I love how it looks in the sunshine.☀️#mossterrarium#terrariumtuesday
