Felt amazing warming up so tied my PR of 275x5
Dropped down to 245 for 3x5
My squat is incredibly weak and something I want to focus on growing each and every week.
Tons of people in the gym getting it in early today so had to match that energy. We workin. .
Haven’t posted in a minute, life happens, still been lifting and feeling great. Here is 585 for my 5th and 4th single from yesterday. Sumo has been feeling like shit compared to conventional, oh well haha. 😂 @radlee_plott@entropiclabs@maxnutritionut
A little Monday throwback to April of this year and what I'm pretty sure is the most I've ever benched for a set of 4 at 295lb. •
A week or two after this I sustained a pec injury that set the bench back for a while. It do be like that sometimes.
Things have been on track for a while now, but I'm not quite back to where I was at this point. When one is managing a setback of any kind, we can look back on prior performances and frame it in one of two ways: we can lament over our current performance and how it is inferior to where we once were, or we can look at a previous performance as an indication of our potential and use it as motivation going forward, a goal to surpass.
The latter mindset is certainly more productive and is my preference for myself and the clients and patients I work with.
What's your motivation for this week? What goals are you planning to accomplish? Share below👇🏼
Member Monday Spotlight
Daniel Cruz age 28
Daniel has been coming to Powerhouse Since 2014 and comes in 5 days a week. His fitness goal is to compete in a powerlifting meet. What keeps him motivated to keep coming back and working hard is “when I hit a personal best on a lift and the process to achieve the lift feels awesome.” His advice to new members is “Decide what you want to achieve in the gym, have a plan and write down your progress, it will help you keep motivated.” The hardest part of his fitness journey has been “ to accept that failure is part of the process. If I fail today I can try again tomorrow.”
