  • I am trying to focus on myself a little more each day in ways that are beneficial to my health and happiness as well as my families.
Going on a short weekend getaway (#momcation)to visit my mom in Arizona was long overdue! I am so glad I went and I am so glad to be home, with my boys, now too.
Being a mom is hard!
Finding a balance between giving most of your energy and attention to your kids during the day and making sure you have some left over for yourself at the end of the day is no easy feat! You all know that, though.
What is your favorite thing to do for yourself?
How does it benefit you?
How does it benefit your family?

Right now my favorite thing to do for myself is share Beautycounter. I love learning and sharing the benefits of #saferbeauty.
It gives me something to focus on outside of #momming.
Your turn, what do you love to do with your “me” time? 📷:: My latest haul awaiting me when I came home! 😍 I am trying to focus on myself a little more each day in ways that are beneficial to my health and happiness as well as my families. .
We’ve had these building blocks from @megabloks on our shelf for a while now because they’ve been used and played with almost every day
.
Here’s a pic of our Busybee playing with them first thing when he wakes up!
.
I’m not sure whether or not these blocks are considered a ‘Montessori toy’ but at the moment, they’re impossible to take away from our little one! He fixes the blocks together and takes them apart, puts them in their basket and takes them back out. He uses the blocks more as a fine motor activity than to actually build something, so if that’s the developmental need he’s got now, I figured the Montessori approach would be to follow the child
.
So far, meeting his needs means not having to rotate any work off his shelf for the moment. Which makes life a bit easier for me these days hehe!
.
We don’t rotate our Busybee’s shelf on a schedule. Instead, I’ve got this notebook where I write down my observations — what currently interests him, what sensitive period he may be in, what developmental needs he has right now, etc. I also write down whether or not he ignores certain toys, gets frustrated at them or engages with them over and over again. Then we rotate the work on the shelf to suit his needs — removing toys that are not age appropriate anymore or too advanced for him, and presenting toys/activities that we think he’d engage with based on our observations of him
.
Currently, he’s got an array of fine motor activities out on the shelf and has been loving them for 2 weeks straight now! • Follow the Child • . It was a rainbow sky!! We had unintentionally made it to the beach for the sunset and it didn't disappoint. We spent some time at the beach that day and night while we were kid free, it was amazing and much needed! Living in another state than where you grew up can be challenging. So when we get the chance to date we date pretty hard.
Do you still date your significant other?

I did bring my work with me, however I didnt get to much done. Most of my time spent was with Wes and being adventurous, it was wonderful!
Do you and your signficant other get away often or not often enough?
I missed my girls horribly and cried a few or more times but it was all worth it. We all were able to grow in some way.
So I'm back and I'll be working on some things and I'll be keeping ya updated, so stay tuned. #refreshed
