Happy Monday guys!
Hope your having a great start of the week 💙
It’s been awhile since I posted a #maskmonday so here is another series of #maeskincare101 🧐
.
.
WHAT ARE SHEETMASKS?
SHEETMASKS are typically relaxing and it’s one of the many forms of SELFCARE (in my opinion, anyways).
Also, to simply put, it’s a mask in a “sheet” form — made of fiber, cotton, cellulose, or coconut pulp, with holes. It’s wet, cool, and usually dripping straight out of the package, because it’s infused with a liquid cocktail of hydrating ingredients. You place it on your face by lining up the holes over your eyes and mouth.
The physical mask prevents the evaporation of beneficial ingredients and helps maximizes the treatment. Let’s just say, think of a sheet mask as saturating your skin in a temporary but effective moisturizing sleeping bag of skin care, where good stuff gets in but nothing gets out.
——————————
The sheetmasks I’m ft. today is from #beaudiani and is from their AROMA MASK series:
✨ 𝚁𝙾𝚂𝙴 | aromatherapy mask that contains aroma essential oils — Rosa Damascena Flower Oil & Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil — which has main benefits of being moisturizing, stress relieving, gives nutrients to the skin, reduction of anxiety and good for sensitive skin.
✨ 𝙼𝙰𝙽𝙳𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙽 & 𝚂𝚆𝙴𝙴𝚃 𝙾𝚁𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴 | aromatherapy mask that contains aroma essential oils — Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Oil & Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil — which has main benefits of being moisturizing, stress relieving, gives nutrients to the skin, digestive stimulating effect, and regeneration of skin cells & smooth skin.
——————————
WHERE DO THEY GO IN YOUR ROUTINE?
Of course we have to make sure we cleanse our face, but after that, what happens?
With all of the different toners, serums, and essences... where do sheet masks fit in?
To be honest, there is no set rule because every skin type is different and what works for one skin type may not fit another skin type. But in general, the recommended routine is to cleanse, tone, sheet mask and then moisturize afterwards. That is the simplest way to fit a sheet mask in YOUR DAILY SKINCARE ROUTINE 💛

  • "Dream A Little Dream of Me 🌛" My review on @theboxwalla's superb October beauty box is finally on the blog - have a read via the link in my bio.

Boxwalla meets @africanbotanics for their third ever collaboration and this box showcased their Le Masque Hydralift Intense which is a hydrating treatment hybrid - use it as an overnight sleeping mask (insert in your serum step) or as a PM rinse off mask. In my opinion it's best used overnight so your skin reaps the full benefits of it, because it contains a lottttt of good stuff, like • hyaluronic acid in different molecular weights • vitamin C • niacinamide • fermented yeast • marine ingredients like red seaweed, microalgae glucans, chlorella • and others such as squalane • mallow • helichrysum • aloe ferox • marula oil • resurrection plant oil • baobab oil and more.

Where it really shines in ingredients is it's combination of algae and thorny shrub which form a mesh like layer that acts as a second skin - it forms a non-occlusive barrier that protects it + prevents TEWL. This second skin has a way of literally tightening the skin to firm it, lift it, plump it, and contour it to your natural bone structure. It's pretty much a hydrating face lift in a bottle and it WORKS! Check out the review for more info and my thoughts.

One-time October boxes are available on the Boxwalla store for $74.95 - Le Masque has as a retail value of $180 so it's a darn good price. Snag one (or gift one!) via the shopping link in my bio 🖐️ "Dream A Little Dream of Me 🌛" My review on @theboxwalla's superb October beauty box is finally on the blog - have a read via the link in my bio. • It’s about time I dedicate a post to the lovely @vo.beautyco 💕
—
This artisanal, Toronto-based skincare line was founded by Diana Vo, the SWEETEST esthetician with 10 years of experience in the industry. Diana created a simple collection of multi-purpose, user-friendly skincare products that provide everything you need to look glowing, healthy & younger.

Her formulas are all-natural, non-toxic, sustainably sourced & cruelty-free. She picks her ingredients meticulously; all her products are non-irritating & a perfect for sensitive skin.
—
🍯Manuka Glow Antioxidant Mud Mask ($27.50 for 1oz/$52 for 2oz): Honey is one of my favorite moisturizing, healing ingredients. This has manuka honey, propolis, clay & cold-pressed oils (argan, marula, apricot), as well as aduzki beans to gently exfoliate. It leaves my skin soft & smooth, and gives a lasting radiant glow. It’s sticky when applying (it is honey after all!) but once it’s on it feels so nourishing & cozy. ⠀
⠀
🌹Sleeping Beauty Hydrating Gel Mask ($22.50 for 1oz/$43 for 2oz): This hydrating & soothing gel mask contains royal jelly, aloe extract, rose hydrosol, vitamin E & hibiscus flower. I reach for this sleeping mask whenever my skin is reacting; it’s soothing and helps with inflammation & redness. My skin can be sensitive to rose but never with this product! It has a wet consistency (feels just like applying aloe) that is refreshing & cooling. ⠀
⠀
🌊Ocean Goddess Detox Mask ($35 for 2oz): This detoxing powder mask is great at fighting bacteria/acne and calming redness & inflammation. The only ingredients are spirulina, chlorella, moringa & wheatgrass. You can mix this powder with anything (oils, water, yogurt)— I like mixing with another cream/gel-based mask to create a custom mask! ⠀
⠀
💙True Beauty Facial Oil ($50 for 1oz): This is a unique blend of powerful breakout-fighting ingredients like blue tansy, meadowfoam, tea tree, frankincense, rosehip & pomegranate oils. Also helps to calm redness & inflammation. A savior for anyone with sensitive, acne-prone, or dehydrated skin. It’s also supposed to be amazing for rosacea!

  • Quick shout out to @herbaldynamicsbeauty customer service. They resent my package even though I’m the one that sent them the wrong address on accident 🥴 they were kind enough to let me pick out 2 of their products to try.⁣
⁣
I picked out their Vivid Revival AHA Brightening Foaming Cleanser* and their Vitamin K and Green Tea Brightening Eye Cream* I’ve only used the cleanser so far and I enjoy it. With 10% glycolic acid, it exfoliates my skin on days where I’m not planning on using any acid serums. The smell can be strong at times. It’s not drying though, thankfully. I sometimes even use it as a mini mask. I tested the pH to be around 4, which is around the optimal pH for glycolic acid to work. It also foams due to the nozzle design, it doesn’t actually have any foaming agents in it. ⁣
⁣
Have you tried herbal dynamics? What’s your fav AHA/BHA cleanser?⁣

  • This is an @otherlandco obsessed post 😍 I absolutely ADORE this brand and their candles (also, their creator @alphagail has the same name as me so obvi love). They just sent over their new fall scents and I have been testing them out all morning! This collection includes:
🕯Mountain Lace: elderflower fizz, Anjou pear and apple blossom.⁣
🕯Crisp Cornflower: Corn silk, golden husk, water lily.⁣
🕯 Dappled Wood: Sandalwood, toasted walnut, sweet hay. ⁣
At first smell, I would say Dappled Wood is so far my favorite, Mountain Lace second and Crisp Cornflower third. I am not a huge fan of corn 😅 but once it’s burning it’s so many different scents! Al in all, love this brand, the aesthetics of the candles, and the creative blends ✨⁣
What’s your favorite candle?! 👇🏼⁣

  • Y’ALL not to be drastic or anything BUT these @peterthomasrothofficial products are so amazing they could ignore my texts, leave me on read, open my snaps, not respond until six days later, and I would still reply within 0.2 seconds because they are just that good.
SO I originally bought the small trial version @sephora which includes all five steps in miniature size for only $35 which is honestly very worth it. I used the system about 2-3 times a day and it lasted me a week. The mini version comes with the toner pads, the spot treatment, the face wash, and the moisturizer, as well as some spot stickers which I tried but stopped using bc idk I wasn’t in the habit of putting stickers on my face. I then repurchased in full size the salicylic acid face wash and moisturizer as well as the toner pads and the colloidal sulfur spot treatment. I think I’ve said before how much I love products with SA as the active ingredient mainly bc it dehydrates problem areas instead of killing the bacteria which is less strenuous to your skin. Other active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or retinols can also be effective but more harsh on the skin. My skin for some lovely reason can be problematic but is also really sensitive so I can’t irritate it too much or it actually gets worse.
So in summation, the product line is amazing it has improved my skin so drastically it’s less red and irritated and inflamed and it’s only been two weeks. I may even work up the courage to post a before and after soon. #skincare #skincareroutine #skinstagram #skincaretips #skinfluencer #beauty #glossier #skincareproducts Y’ALL not to be drastic or anything BUT these @peterthomasrothofficial products are so amazing they could ignore my texts, leave me on read, open my snaps, not respond until six days later, and I would still reply within 0.2 seconds because they are just that good.
