  • It doesn’t look so bad, no? Well, trust me, it was. I mean the chicken curry wasn’t, but those dosas - well, they took all the effort, and toil, but still refused to come out edible in the beginning.
@ankurpatney and I didn’t give up though. We kept at it - trying different batter consistencies, heat modes and pans, until something edible started taking shape.
Who doesn’t love making perfect looking food? Our Instagram feeds are filled with it. You know what the feeds don’t show us? Moments of imperfection. Of random misadventures. Of getting something wrong the first 5 times, only to crack it at the sixth attempt.
Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s awesome getting things right the first time. But you know what’s truly under rated? Rescuing something that you thought was already botched.
Which brings me to the question: Have you ever botched a recipe? If yes, how did you rescue it? It doesn’t look so bad, no? Well, trust me, it was. • So a few of my colleagues have been giving rave reviews about Secret Recipe's Asam #Laksa as they know that I am a "Hantu Laksa" (it's my staple food! Duh, I am a Northern Boy y'all! 🤪🤣🤣). Since there's a Secret Recipe eatery just a stone-throw away from my house, I guess it's time! My first impression was that the smell of the broth was quite strong (they use sardines!) and it wasn't as delicious as the "kampong" style where the broth was darker and tastier. But I guess Secret Recipe's will do if a "Hantu Laksa" hasn't been savouring any for the longest time - should compensate the urge🤣🤣. Nevertheless, I think I prefer the street stall ones. The only plus point for Secret Recipe's laksa is that they gave you "Otak Udang" as well & that simply accentuated the laksa-ness #flavour!
Overall, I still prefer "kampong" @ street stall laksa + Old Town's. And I love Northern (Kedah & Penang) laksa as well as Kuala Kangsar's - well, not that it matters 🤣🤣🤪 #foodporn #foodreview #asamlaksa #secretrecipe #streetfoodlover So a few of my colleagues have been giving rave reviews about Secret Recipe's Asam #laksa as they know that I am a "Hantu Laksa" (it's my staple food!
