Another Holiday haul!
Last week I had a couple of days away in Devon with my parents and son. Today he posted his haul (his first post here, still can't believe he is here!) So I thought I'd better post mine. I'm currently reading 'Tarka the Otter' and really enjoying it. I'm just reading a chapter at a time, it's such a lovely book I don't want to rush it. 'The Kings General' was the first Daphne du Maurier book I read as a teenager. I still have my original copy but I was very pleased to pick up this edition as it's part of the set I'm collecting of her books. 'The Peregrine' is a real classic of nature writing, it was mentioned in my recent read 'Findings' by Kathleen Jamie (my thoughts on that one are coming really soon) and also in the essay I read yesterday by Robert MacFarlane 'The Gifts of Reading' as you might have seen in my stories. I love it when this kind of 'book magic' happens! All my reads connecting together.
The Coetzee was in the 10p box so how could I not?! Helen Dunmore, as I've mentioned here, when I read one of her poetry collections earlier this year, I've been looking out for. With a lovely copy of 'To the Lighthouse' and the three Thomas Hardy classics (picture two which has got cut off and I can't seem to fix I'm afraid) all in all I was a very happy #bibliophile.
