'When you fill your hearts with the PURE LOVE of Christ, you leave no room for rancor, judgement or shaming. You keep God's commandments because you love Him. In the process, you slowly become more CHRISTLIKE in your thoughts and deeds. And what adventure could be GREATER THAN THIS?' - @dieterfuchtdorf October 2019 General Conference, 'Your Great Adventure.' Before the night is over I can't go to sleep before humbly acknowledging and Thanking my Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ for this beautiful Sabbath Day I've had and overall week really! In our Faith, on a day like this we share our Testimonies and break our Fast in many thanks for all that we've been blessed with and in many thanks for things to come. Today, I've been reflecting on this 'Great Adventure' called Life. To be honest, I am really tired but that's because I've been dancing all weekend lol. Sometimes, adventures can really drain you like Bilbo Baggins from the 'The Hobbit'(link in bio ☝️☝️☝) who ventured on nothing less of an epic adventure, and who also faced weariness and many tiresome challenges along the way. However, do you guys ever think of the beautiful scenic, picturesque and ig worthy backdrops he was able to trek along through while on his way? I live for monumental views and I am sure the returns on HIS adventure were far greater than what met the eye. They take me to a land far far away in my imagination. I dwell in a Paradise unknown only felt, something like that of a Promised Land. I sometimes imagine a place so majestic, sacred and pure that even God the Father and His Son would roam and visit. I am grateful to have been one with nature this past weekend to remind me 🎶 For the Beauty of the Earth...🎶 and to think exactly a week ago THIS 👆 was my view. I hope to continue to live aspiring to see Life through HIS view. To live, to learn and to love is a great adventure and really what can be GREATER than this?! Sunday thoughts and gratitude. Sweet dreams. -#inspobyizzyesco#slc#views#sunday#sabbath#christus#templesquare#gratittude#fastsunday#greatadventure#uchtdorf#lds#sharegoodness#embark#testimony#childoggod#live#learn#christlike#love#glorytothehighest#myredeemerlives
I love this man 😍. I love that he only ever wants to make me happy. This was the night we got engaged 9 years ago! We look so young, healthy, and happy!
Our marriage is not perfect, but we both continue to try. @dieterfuchtdorf taught that "discipleship is not about doing things perfectly; it's about doing things intentionally." I'd like to apply that to marriage as well. With misunderstandings and miscommunication, it's impossible to be perfect at marriage. We both came from such different backgrounds with different ideas! We can, however have perfect intent. If our intention is to give 💯% always, love wholeheartedly no matter what, and check with each other, our marriage can be something worth fighting for.
Some of my favorite people right here in this picture. I took this photograph of the Uchtdorf couple with my father, Jorge Cocco, at the Manhattan temple during the Mormon Arts Festival in 2017.
When then President Uchtdorf was leaving I just felt compelled to touch his arm and as he turned around I told him "you speak with the voice of thunder, but your message is of love and mercy" words that came from my heart. His messages really feel like that to me. Then he gave me a big, tender embrace.
In your encounters this week, see how you can extend the most mercy possible. Please comment about any experiences you have! Here is a great talk to study more about mercy and give you some ideas of how to apply it!

LOVE this quote! How much happier we will be if we are grateful ALWAYS! ♥️ "We sometimes think that being grateful is what we do after our problems are solved, but how terribly shortsighted that is. How much of life do we miss by waiting to see the rainbow before thanking God that there is rain? Being grateful in times of distress does not mean that we are pleased with our circumstances. It does mean that through the eyes of faith we look beyond our present-day challenges...This is not a gratitude of the lips but of the soul. It is a gratitude that heals the heart and expands the mind."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf | "Grateful in Any Circumstances"
It’s easy to be overwhelmed when starting a new phase of life. (Getting home from your mission, starting school, a new job, getting married, etc.)
So take it slow. You WILL get into the swing of things sooner than you think. Just focus on the essentials. .
During these times I try to remember the teachings of King Benjamin: .
Mosiah 4:27 “And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order.”
Funny story that happened today. My best friends 4 year old daughter looked at my necklace and asked me about it.
Amelia: Why are there flowers in there?
Me: They’re Forget Me Not flowers. Once an apostle told a story about them to remind us that with God we are never forgotten.
Amelia thought about what I said for a moment...
Amelia: Lauren, I’ll always forget you!
Me: Mmmkayyy... we’ll revisit this later.

Something about mom's and newborns makes me really appreciate my life...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Time seems to fly by so fast.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A little too fast. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Each day we get up and go. Up and on to our daily routine.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then we come home to prep for the next day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes I forget to enjoy the unique journey I'm on in life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To stop and smell the roses along my path.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Being a witness to this sweet experience with a mama and a newborn help me to stop, take a breathe, and live in the moment.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Sometimes in life we become so focused on the finish line that we fail to find joy in the journey...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Doesn’t it seem foolish to spoil sweet and joyful experiences because we are constantly anticipating the moment when they will end?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do we listen to beautiful music waiting for the final note to fade before we allow ourselves to truly enjoy it? No. We listen and connect to the variations of melody, rhythm, and harmony throughout the composition...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We shouldn’t wait to be happy until we reach some future point, only to discover that happiness was already available—all the time! Life is not meant to be appreciated only in retrospect.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“This is the day which the Lord hath made … ,” the Psalmist wrote. “Rejoice and be glad in it.” [Psalm 118:24.]⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Quote by my fave @dieterfuchtdorf
There’s a feeling I often get when I create something, no matter how small and trivial or how big and significant. It’s a positive, forward leaning, heart-filling, yes kind of feeling. Have you felt it too? #creativity#create#creativitywakeup
I've been doing a lot of personal study and pondering lately. Trying to keep in mind that perfection isn't the goal. I fell in love with this quote by Elder Uchtdorf and decided I wanted to make myself a daily reminder of it. These forget me nots are now hanging by my mirror. "Wherever you are, whatever the circumstances may be, you are not forgotten. No matter how dark your days may seem, no matter how insignificant you may feel, no matter how overshadowed you think you may be, your Heavenly Father has not forgotten you. In fact, He loves you with an infinite love." #progressnotperfection#forgetmenot#godslove#youarenotforgotten#uchtdorf
