  • The 3rd and final CUCUMBER of the season! But no pickles 😔
. .
AHEM - I need to bring something up with @mr_plantgeek - which i found during my research into pickles... I found a wordpress post in which he says a "Wallie" is a Northern word for a pickle... It propa int! A wallie is a Cockney word for a pickle - supposedly coming from the brand-name from ye olde times when the barrowboys wheeled cases of the stuff about. Or its a mispronounced version of "olive" which began to apply to all jarred delights.
.
.
The adorable swear word "wally" (i love this story) may originate from Isle Of Wight festival in the ‘70s, where a couple of friends spotted their lost pal Wally and started shouting his name - as you do. The chant of “Wally! Wally!” caught on instantly and spread until the whole festival was chanting it. This tradition carried on at festivals over the years. So, you’re a “wally” because you got lost.

Note: in no way am i saying @mr_plantgeek is a wally. I just wanted to clarify that wallies come from down south not up norf! 😂😁 The 3rd and final CUCUMBER of the season! But no pickles 😔 . .
